Is 58 too old for 38?

I agree w/ this.

What about carnal friends? Maybe she wants to get with him carnally.

You asked me a question and I answered. If you want sex with an almost 60 year old go for it but, if I was 38, hell no.

Not at all. It'd be different if he was 38 and you were 58 though.

Yes. I’m 47 and I think 58 is too old.

I know a couple like this. First time dad at 60. She's 30- something. He had more energy than her.

For the younger guy, he’s also fine for right now. He could be good for long term too if he also doesn’t want kids.

The younger guy would be fine with or without, but he has a lot of cultural/ familial pressure for kids and marriage, and at 34 is considered quite old in his culture for not being a married father.

In that case he’s not for long term either. He will eventually cave and marry a younger woman. Fun for now though!!

Op here.
I can't speak for every pairing with the age difference. But for us it's believe it or not a similar upbringing. He's only a few years older than my oldest sibling.
A love of dogs. Similar taste in music. Same charitable activities.

There are things that give me pause like I'm only 12 years older than his daughter.

He's widowed and still wears a ring.

But at the same time I don't want to be married ever.

Age is a funny thing as you get older. I am 33, my boyfriend is 41, my father is 52. My boyfriend has equal things in common with myself and my father.

The best relationships I have had were with women 20-30 years younger than me.

Oh it’s you again.

My I'm 33, DH is 41. As we got further in our relationship I realized I would be fine with an even larger age difference too. Obviously 8 and 20 years are different but if you're just looking to date or have fun I see no problem.

Of course it’s too old. You think it too otherwise you wouldn’t be asking.

Uh huh.

Don't do it. Studies show that women with significantly older male partners have shortened lifespans. On the other hand, men with much younger female partners have longer lifespans.
