What home workout equipment do you own and do you use it?

I have a peloton and many sets of dumbbells that I gradually collected (3, 5, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35). I use them 5x a week and have for years. I would not use an elliptical or treadmill but it’s all about what you enjoy!

We have yoga mats, therabands, yoga blocks, and weights. They all get used multiple times a week.

Dumbbell tree, weight bench, rower, bands, yoga mats, yoga block. I workout 4-5 days a week and use them all except the rower. That’s my husbands which he uses 3-4 times a month, which isn’t a lot, and I’m glad we got it second hand for under $100.

We have a peloton and a rower and both use the peloton much more. The video, music, instructor interface just makes it more fun, less like some boring task we have to do.

Elliptical, bike, free weights. Use the elliptical/bike 6-7x a week, the free weights 3x a week. Love that my gym is right upstairs! Watching tv makes it almost pleasurable.

We have lots of stuff but collected as we got more dedicated. We have a peloton bike collecting dust because my wife has been injured. I use my tread+ treadmill all the time but not the classes, especially for higher speed interval training. I have a smart trainer for my road bike. We also have free weights I use when I don’t have time to do my strength training at the gym.

I think build it first is a bad plan if you aren’t already a gym dedicated person. I’d get in the gym a lot and realize it’s a huge pain in the ass and a time suck going there, then build what you want.

We have a nice treadmill (step below gym grade) and it gets used a ton. We also have an elliptical that gets used a decent amount and sometimes we work out at the same time so it’s nice to have two machines. We have a Hydrow which i love but don’t use as often as i should. Then we have weights and a mat area with weight ranging from fives to twenties (mine) and much bigger stuff for DH. These also get used a ton because DH is disciplined and I’m lazy, but have a personal trainer come to the house once or twice a week

What’s iFir. And, do you like it?

I agree about starting small and building your collection up (I have a bad habit of thinking I "need" something and buying it right away).

We have hand weights, a balance bar, and some steps of various heights and configurations. I use them regularly. We also have a treadmill which hasn't been used much recently but it's now in a better spot with a tv so I'm going to use it more.

I have a peloton bike, a treadmill, and a Tonal. Also have a set of free weights and exercise bands. I use all of it. The trick is to find out what creates friction between you and working out consistently. For me it was having to think about what to do. So i amassed equipment where I can just push a button and have a trainer show up on screen and tell me what to do. the fact that these things are freaking expensive also helps, b/c if I don't use them, I get mad at myself for wasting that money. There's something different about letting a gym membership go to waste versus having all this stuff staring at you every day and knowing you don't use it.

Handweights/dumbbells, peloton, treadmill, yoga mat/blocks, and a barbell. I don't use the barbell much but that is because I do a lot of peloton strength and they don't use it!

I use almost everything else quite a bit.

My husband has a pull up bar for a doorframe that does not get much use. And my resistance bands have been kind of duds.

Cardio: Treadmill (use it almost every day - it’s a very nice one, I would likely not use a bare bones model), spin bike (use with pelo app - it’s a not a peloton and i think I would use it more if it were because the resistance range is limited) and a rower (nobody uses that).

Weights: les mills smart bar setup, free weights 3-20 lbs, some other system my husband bought. I don’t use those but do use the first two almost every day.

weight bench

I will never go back to a normal gym (maybe would do solidcore, etc). I have little kids and the added time going to and from is just brutal. This is effective for me for now. But, if you aren’t motivated to workout, it doesn’t really matter where it is.

I also think the tread + elliptical is overkill. Pick one or the other.

I have never been to a gym unless you count the rec center at my college that I used 3 times in 1993.

I have an inexpensive treadmill that I use 6 days per week (I do NOT need a guided workout on a treadmill. I just watch something on my tablet, set the incline and speed at a good fat burning level, and go for 5 miles).

I have some light dumbells (6, 8 and 10 pounds) and a 25 pound Bala barbell that I like for squats. That's it! If I had space for something else, I might get a rower.
