We have a water rower - we use it pretty regularly. it's one hell of a workout. DH has a Peloton that he uses a few times a week. for weights I go to the gym. |
Squat rack, barbell, hex bar, bench, barbells, bike, and treadmill. Two tv’s, and a bunch of fans. Best money we ever spent to not have to get dressed up and drive to Equinox. |
We used to have a treadmill and used it regularly; it broke and hasn’t been replaced yet (mostly because we can’t pull the trigger when reviews online are all over the place on every model or because they’re enormous and we only have a small space). I do use my dinky little exercise bike quite a bit. |
Hydrow - I use it almost daily (it’s been 1.5 years). Weights- I use them 2x/ week. Treadmill- use it less now that we have the rowing machine. But it’s good for rainy days if I feel like walking a little. |
We have a treadmill, 2 ellipticals, and a rowing machine. I use it 6 days a week and my husband 3-4 times a week. We love not having to go out to exercise and can be finishing up exercising while the kids get on with getting ready for school.
The only downside is we can’t seem to use it in the evening. We have found that by the time we get home from work we just cannot get motivated in the way we would going to the gym on the way home from work. So if you’re evening exercisers I’d think about that. And if you don’t currently go to a gym regularly I would imagine you’re less likely to use it then if you’re replacing an existing habit. |
Peloton, pull up bar, yoga mat. Do push ups and stretching on the mat. That’s all you really need if you wanna keep it simple. |
I had so much. A whole room just for working out. And I never, ever used it. I did maybe a half dozen spin bike rides. But I found out the expensive way that I don’t like working out inside my house. So I ditched all of it except some weights, a yoga mat, jump rope, and some therabands. Now I run, ride my bike, and go to CrossFit. |
I looooove my treadmill. I use it a couple times a week for jogs and a couple more for walking and watching a tv show instead of sitting on the couch. Other than that I would get free weights like 5, 8 and 10 to start. My DH never used his stationary bike |
Peloton and weights. Had an elliptical--just no not for me and hardly ever used it. I use the Peloton nearly daily. Would love to have the Peloton tread, but run outdoors instead until I feel like putting the $ down for it. Get what you think you'll use OP and what fits best with your workouts. |
I love my peloton tread, free weights, ballet bar and space for yoga. I like my peloton bike. I use my home gym 5x per week. I can always find 30 minutes for a quick run and weight workout. |
We have converted our garage into a gym room and have:
- a tonal machine, - some additional materials for HIT training sessions and stretching: light free weights for me (8-5-3 pounds), a jump rope, a foam roller, theraguns (the classic and a wave solo for feet) - space and materials for yoga and pilates classes (mats, blocks, bands, a ring etc..) I hesitated a lot between tonal, peloton bike and thread, nordic tread, water rower. But figured i liked running outside and the tonal would get the best use as DH was interested too. I really love it. it is helping me get into a weight training routine i would never have without. BUT i need to improve and use it more often (got it recently). Current routine: - run 3 times a week. That works best because i run with a group so it creates the accountability - aim for 5 Tonal sessions a week (which include pilates and yoga classes). I am not achieving this yet, i am closer to 2 times a week. But that is still better than when i had to go to the gym. |
