| You guys are freaking me out. My DH recently took a position in Baltimore, Inner Harbor. But he drives a really nice/flashy car worth around $130k |
Will he be parking it in a secure garage or a public garage? Where is he driving from? |
eat the rich |
He could just not drive that car to work. |
| The overwhelming majority of human being who walk that route survive it without incident. |
oh no!! we will pray for him |
Um, is he going to park at the Poe house and walk to work? Because if not, he’ll be fine. |
I live in Baltimore (and I'm still alive to type this post after 25 years here!), my husband works across from the street from Inner Harbor and my office is in an area that few tourists have any reason to ever visit. I've never been hurt but yes, I'm careful and know where I'm going. Not sure what the cost of your husband's car has to do with this discussion at all. |
Umm ..... a $130k car is more likely to be stolen than a cheap car. Or someone driving an expensive car is likely to carry more cash/expensive jewelry or watch than someone driving a cheap car. Criminals have no issues about profiling potential victims. |
Baltimore is full of people with expensive cars. They drive to their office’s parking garage, board the elevator, come back down at the end of the day, and drive out again. There’s nothing to wring your hands over. |
Agree with this post. |
Hilarious. I worked for years in Baltimore, office in the Galleria. Good luck with that car. |
Based on your having even posted this, I’d venture to guess you’ll stick out wherever you go. Frankly, you must want to if you spend that much on a car. |
| Previously spent some fun day trips in and around the Inner Harbor. It's a shame that Baltimore has deteriorated so...now it is the antithesis of the "Charm City." Last time (maybe 8 years ago) we stayed overnight at the Residence Inn near the Inner Harbor and could watch people being hassled as they tried to enter the store on the street below. That was the last time we'll visit for a long time. Unfortunately, it seems to be a trend to cede big cities (SF, Seattle, Portland, NYC) to petty criminals and let it rip until it isn't a safe place for resident or visitors. |
| We walked from Little Italy to Camden Yard on Tuesday along the Inner Harbor and did not feel safe. The walk back after the game was way worse. Someone also tried to hit my car in the way out. |
