If you believe this will be built anytime soon I have a bridge in Brooklyn that may interest you. Classic ignoring of middle class. Whitman got it’s second addition. Gaithersburg brand new. Nothing for this place. It is disgusting!

I don't think the fact that Wootton has the highest number of Asians has not been renovated is no accident.

Since McKnight and Wolff started, filed by Asian families count the number of:
1. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights open investigation discrimination cases
2. Complaints from the Public filed
3. Lawsuits filed by Asian families against MCPS

Whitman had been overcrowded, Wootton has 200 empty seats.

Where is this? There is no racism by teachers and families. Maybe NY classmates or maybe some families that have been friends for years

I hope you are joking because if you really think there's no racism by teachers and families you are really living under a rock.

Are you white? This is like men saying “sexism? Oh, I never encounter that!”

They move in packs. My old HS is now 70 percent Asian. Nearly all Chinese.

By comparison 45 years ago it was 86 percent Jewish. There was maybe 3 percent non white in total. It managed to be rated the best non magnet and non private HS in the United States and the tide changed.

It is pretty wild. The school is still amazing. But very unusual hardly any whites left and the black and Spanish kids got even less and priced out.

They win every academic award possible. But a Football team 70 percent Chinese and 30 percent Jewish is funny.

But damn plenty of good violin and piano players. Plus the Jewish temples now have plenty of seats on the high holidays

Remember that several new developments grew up in the Wooton district and many of the homes were purchased by Asian families, so continuing the turn of the wheel. A good example is the Willows development. New development built in phases during the 1990s. lots of young Asian families purchased. Other new developments same deal, Fallsgrove is another example.

News flash. People like being around people that look and act like they do. Shared language, culture and priorities bind people together. The idea of a hugely diverse and integrated culture is lovely but not completely realistic.

It’s a wealthy school. Not middle class.

The data (lawsuits, DoEd OCR complaints, CFPs) says otherwise. MCPS was even caught grade tampering with an Asian Magnet student back in '19, didn't deny doing it, said it was too difficult to correct. Never hit the press but it should have (and still may). Parents normally don't check individual assignment grades that their kids receive against the grades handed back to their kids. They just trust a teacher would never do such a thing, but it's real.
