How common is it to be 'groped' by a stranger?

Anonymous
It's happened to me countless times and I never thought it was criminal. Now when I hear about high profile 'sex assaults' that were groping incidents, I think it's another world now.

In high school, college, in my 20's men groped me in crowds, clubs, trains and got away with it, I guess now they would be in jail.

I hope those gropers are on notice that they are sexual predators who should have done jail time (I wish).

I would follow their hand, up their arm, so that I was sure I had the right person, then elbow them in the crotch as hard as I could. It was quite satisfying.

In those places, that's being friendly.

No, it is not. If you're a man, how would you feel about a random man touching your crotch while you're out having a drink with some friends?

Never. I'm in my mid 40's, went to clubs/parties almost every weekend in college, but never took publc transportation. Even now as an adult, the only time I take public transportation is when traveling in other cities.

That previous comment is likely from a man - who has groped women and doesn't like to think of himself as a sex offender.

Do you consider yourself attractive?

That's why I asked him how he'd feel if a man did to him what he thinks is "friendly" when men do it to women.

That infamous 'sex assault' case in Loudoun county schools involved groping by a student. That groping case was the crime of the century and in the national news.

What a world!

I am early 50s and it happened to me -- once on crowded subway, when a man grabbed my crotch and squeezed, once while walking down a street when a man came up and put his hand on my rear. In the first case I was so shocked I didn't know what to do - I got off at the next stop without saying anything (stupid now, I know, but when you are young and inexperienced you don't know how to react). In the second instance I yelled and the guy and he ran off.

Never mind the several times men jacked off in front of me / my friends.

This all happened in the 80s and early 90s.

Being groped by another man? I don't think so.

Re-read what I wrote and let me know if you still feel that way.

The parallel would be getting groped by a woman. But carry on.

I think there needs to be another word for the crime of groping - sexual assault sounds like rape. It's not even on the same level but the umbrella term is used for anything and everything.

I was groped in Baltimore at a sports event.

My brother punched the guy and police were called.

Witnesses told the cops about the groping (this is when I found out it was a crime).

They gave me the option of pressing charges and told me the prosecutor and judge don’t care or they could take them outside the stadium and beat them. I did not press charges, the usher came later to let me know the cops beat the guy bloody.
