This thread as a small microcosm and watching what has happened globally post 10/7 has made me a stronger supporter of Israel than I’ve ever been before, significantly so. Why? Because it is crystal clear to me now that if Jews do not have a strongly defended homeland, they will suffer another Holocaust. I did not realize how many people around the world existed that would explicitly cheer that on if it happened and in fact jump in to help. That has been a devastating realization.
Keep doing what you want, but when I read posts that come straight out of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, it teaches me nothing but support for Israel.
Same. I realize now I can’t just let my Jewish friends sort this one out on their own. Do I support the current government of Israel’s policies wrt to settlements? Hell no. But I support with my whole heart protecting the right of Israel to exist.
Yes. I despise Netanyahu and Likud. I want them out. But my eyes have been entirely opened to the number of people out there who would kill my friends and their children just because they are Jewish. I didn’t realize how bad it was.
I cannot believe how many grossly antisemitic posts I’ve seen here on DCUM, and I’m grateful to Jeff for his willingness to delete them quickly.
Nobody is advocating to kill Jews. That is the biggest strawman.
What I find terrifying is that many Israeli supporters equate slaughtering Palestinians with their survival. Anyone who doesn’t want the genocide of Palestinian children is an antisemite who wants Jews to die.
That binary is horrifying.
People like you believe it and support the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza.
People in the United States believe it too and a 6 year old kindergartener was stabbed to death to preemptively protect Jews from antisemitism. His mom barely survived the attack.
I don’t support terrorism of any kind, however it’s clear to me that the only people in danger of genocide are Palestinians. Since the conflict intensified this month, thousands of Palestinian children have been killed in Gaza. And a Palestinian boy was brutally stabbed to death in the United States for being Palestinian.
Meanwhile, the media narrative in the United States remains that Jewish students have never been in more danger (zero Jewish students have been killed in the United States this month, while a Palestinian kindergartener was stabbed to death.)
I think it’s a terrifying time to be a Palestinian. I speak out for them because everyday the devastation worsens exponentially.
