The Israeli government is known for lying so whatever they say, including the number of people killed on 10/7, is very questionable.

I believe 1400 is an under estimate. They are unable to quickly identify all the remains because many of the bodies have been burned together en masse. And, many of the bodies are not in tact. Body parts separated. That is how cruel Hamas is.
