Hopefully if the rumored IAC/WCAC event gets off the ground, we'll get to see more of it sorted out in the field, in addition to the games already on tap for this week. |
does anyone have intel if this event is actually taking place? I would imagine head coaches and players would have visibility if they are participating given summer break is upon us. Seems odd that the event owners have yet to publicly announce the teams yet when its less than 20 days out all i can find is this website: https://www.cselax.com/boys-lacrosse/tournaments/dc-championships/ |
As of now, yes … after GEICO/Memorial Day. |
We were told today it is supposed to happen, and SSSAS will be playing SJC on (or about) June 3 in the quarterfinal round. |
|
Landon is playing PVI on 6/4
Not sure if this part of the event or if its entirely different. great to hear SJC is playing SS/SA |
| if Prep field is too wet and messy tomorrow, can they move to Bullis or maybe Landon - neutral location? |
| If the field is muddy/wet the game should be moved to another location. It is a shame that a championship game is not open to the public because of Prep campus construction which limits parking and lack of seating for spectators. Not very well planned by the conference. |
Its a covid year and I highly doubt a rival school, especially Landon, will want to deal with the logistics of hosting a big event. GP's campus has very limited parking as a result of the construction taking place as well. I highly doubt the game will be open to the public at all. |
| Did Prep practice on the field today? |
Covid is over, if vaccinated or outdoors, the public most certainly should be allowed to attend. The MIAA championships in Annapolis had 5,000 fans. |
I'm sure Bullis would gladly host the game under the lights and allow fans if Landon did not want to host. |
|
I think some of you are clearly delusional.
Landon is hosting graduating ceremonies this week, why would they host a championship game that could easily attract a couple of thousand people to campus. IAC headmasters / ADs should have thought of this back in March. I just saw there is a water main break outside GP's campus. Not sure if its related to the construction project or not. ps://www.wusa9.com/article/news/local/rockville/water-main-break-rockville-pike-maryland/65-8f728615-f35f-4fc4-906d-58776e36ff41?fbclid=IwAR0gVYOTrTpaYYsMVj1-SfUOTB_Hph_EpQmS9stSGrceNzJ0EhbzCiCR0Pk GP and Bullis should delay the game by one day and allow the Lil Hoyas to host the game on Wednesday. Weather on Wednesday looks fine. |
The field they're using has a massive crown. It will be fine to play. |
|
if the field is wet today, I'd expect it to slow down Prep's potent offense. Lil Hoyas still win today but I think the nerves and pressure will get to them. Expect a closer game than most are anticipating.
