PVI losing to Episcopal definitely looking bad for the WCAC. A shame because PVI has the talent.

PVI needs a new coach. It’s that simple.

Bullis did get a big break drawing St Stephens and catching Prep after the graduation weekend hangover.

If you had a chance to watch the PVI - EHS game yesterday, EHS controlled the pace of the game from start to finish. PVI didn't look interested in playing.

Based on season YTD and quality wins and strength of schedule, I will rank area teams below:

1. Georgetown Prep: Hoyas have dominated the IAC since a very early season loss to Bullis
2. Bullis: The Bulldogs own great wins over Georgetown Prep, Landon, Saint Stephens, and even Episcopal now
3. SJC: best two victories come against Gonzaga and Paul VI
4. Landon: solid victories over Bullis and Saint Stephens (note their game vs EHS was canceled due to COVID)
5. Saint Stephens: solid victories over Bullis, Landon and Episcopal
6. Episcopal: the Maroon win their first ever VISSA State Title. EHS split their series against crosstown rival Saint Stephens
7. Paul VI: VIAA runner up has a good victory over Gonzaga
8. Gonzaga: No quality wins this year, and save my the Riverside argument
9. St Albans: quality win vs Episcopal.. still scratching my head how the Bulldogs managed to win that one
10. DeMatha:

These are solid rankings. Well done.

Good rankings, but not Episcopal's first ever VISAA state title.

excellent rankings... i'd maybe considering swopping positions between Landon and Saint Stephens. The Saints have more quality wins than Landon since they did beat Episcopal.

The SJC - GP debate will get settled over Memorial Day.

The Saints were seeded over Landon because of a coin flip, but though the teams are close, Landon beat The Saints by five goals and then lost by a goal. Landon has scored more goals against common opponents and allowed fewer goals against common opponents, so I think The Saints are justly ranked below Landon, unless they play a third game and the Saints win. A win over Episcopal is not necessarily a quality win. Most likely, Landon would have beaten EHS twice. EHS hasn't beaten Landon in Decades.

Landon didn't play EHS because of a COVID outbreak at EHS. EHS only played IAC schools once, with the exception of St. Stephens, who EHS played twice.
Also, didn't EHS lose to St. Albans? That also serves to indicate EHS might not be a "Quality" win by the standards of this area.

after watching EHS in person on Saturday, I don't understand how they even lost to STA. EHS has some horses in the midfield and are pretty athletic.
