Why do you keep saying the coach cheated? The VHSL never said he did any such thing.

The VHSL letter calls out the Hayfield administration and Hayfield as a school as the actors behind the cheating, rather than the coach.

However it's hard to say that someone at Hayfield without connections to Freedom would have been recruiting those players, right? And that's what proselytizing is in this case - overeager recruiting.

Nope, you are conflating multiple issues.

Recruiting Violation: only the coach can be found guilty of this for obvious reasons.

Sportsmanship/"Spirit of VHSL" Violation: coach AND Hayfield admin were guilty of this

Not correct for recruiting. Someone posted the actual rule above and it gives specifics. Above is lot correct.

PP who mentioned the letter here. My guess is VHSL doesn't have enough concrete evidence to pin this on one person or a group of people, except administration as a whole, and therefore is only calling out the school. Their biggest criticism seems to be that the school didn't shut down the transfers before it got excessive.

They will have a lot of specific evidence that they shared with the school. They don't make that public. It may be gettable via a FOIA to the school.

All these ppl in here, if they really had something it would of “leaked”they don’t n this whole thing is a farce

this whole thing should come back on gatehouse and Reid. Absolutely embarrassing that the state had to get involved when the best resourced public education county in the state refused to do its job.

Nonsense. The VHSL doesn't share details like this publicly. Do a FOIA request if you want to see all the evidence. If it didn't make fcps look bad, they would have already released it.

The one Overton defender is literate at around the 3rd grade level. I really hope that's not one of the "teachers".

Apparently one of the Lake Braddock players has been arrested three times, at least one of the times for armed robbery. And he's still allowed to play on the team. Talk about FCPS doing a shit job these days on player eligibility.

.
The VHSL wrote what they wrote. They did say someone at Hayfield broke the rules, but didn’t say who. They didn’t say Overton, not the Principal, or anyone else specific. You guys are trying to interpret it into more, just like you did The superintendent’s speech.

When they got involved they made FCPS look bad, why stop now. If u have evidence to prove anything other than what FCPS said, let it be known they didn’t. Bottom line is they didn’t stop kids from coming into the school, (they couldn’t) but because it left the other school undermanned it’s made to be that the coach or others on staff had to have “influenced” them to transfer, but again NO real proof just circumstantial that one was caused by the other. But as a coach you leave at end of season and because folks want to go where you are, he’s held liable. Long story short the kids are being penalized for their LOYALTY to him

So all the kids came up with the idea of declaring themselves homeless on their own and organized their own van for pickups and drop offs to Woodbridge?

I agree. Don’t think they have anything concrete.

All they had to say was that they found that a coach had conversations with a parent or whatever. That wouldn’t have exposed anyone anymore than is already happen. Just explain the situation. No need giving any identifying information.

Yes, VHSL was provided photos that showed the kids getting into transportation at Hayfield and that same transportation dropping them off in Woodbridge to their parents. Pretty sure they won't publish images of minors.

Now they won’t talk about this, will they. The kids mom that initiated all this went to South County and played football, why not Edison or Justice? If it fits their narrative it’s conducive to being allowed

How many? can you quantify that statement?, or is it pile on to inflate the story. Again what they were accused of is not what you’re talking about. Don’t deflect from topic.

This 100 times. It is an utter embarrassment. That FCPS acted against school staff who spoke up is unforgivable. That FCPS is doubling down on supporting this is such an obvious case of cya that I believe things are much worse than we know.
