This thread as a small microcosm and watching what has happened globally post 10/7 has made me a stronger supporter of Israel than I’ve ever been before, significantly so. Why? Because it is crystal clear to me now that if Jews do not have a strongly defended homeland, they will suffer another Holocaust. I did not realize how many people around the world existed that would explicitly cheer that on if it happened and in fact jump in to help. That has been a devastating realization.

Keep doing what you want, but when I read posts that come straight out of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, it teaches me nothing but support for Israel.

Same. I realize now I can’t just let my Jewish friends sort this one out on their own. Do I support the current government of Israel’s policies wrt to settlements? Hell no. But I support with my whole heart protecting the right of Israel to exist.

Yes. I despise Netanyahu and Likud. I want them out. But my eyes have been entirely opened to the number of people out there who would kill my friends and their children just because they are Jewish. I didn’t realize how bad it was.

I cannot believe how many grossly antisemitic posts I’ve seen here on DCUM, and I’m grateful to Jeff for his willingness to delete them quickly.

Nobody is advocating to kill Jews. That is the biggest strawman.

What I find terrifying is that many Israeli supporters equate slaughtering Palestinians with their survival. Anyone who doesn’t want the genocide of Palestinian children is an antisemite who wants Jews to die.

That binary is horrifying.

People like you believe it and support the indiscriminate bombing of Gaza.

People in the United States believe it too and a 6 year old kindergartener was stabbed to death to preemptively protect Jews from antisemitism. His mom barely survived the attack.

I don’t support terrorism of any kind, however it’s clear to me that the only people in danger of genocide are Palestinians. Since the conflict intensified this month, thousands of Palestinian children have been killed in Gaza. And a Palestinian boy was brutally stabbed to death in the United States for being Palestinian.

Meanwhile, the media narrative in the United States remains that Jewish students have never been in more danger (zero Jewish students have been killed in the United States this month, while a Palestinian kindergartener was stabbed to death.)

I think it’s a terrifying time to be a Palestinian. I speak out for them because everyday the devastation worsens exponentially.

You’re delusional if you think Muslims in America are at risk of genocide. And stop weaponizing that boy’s death to make an inaccurate argument that Muslims are in intensely more danger than Jews in America.

You weaponize crimes that don't exist and dismiss brutal crimes born out of pervasive and insidious dehumanization of some people.

DP: what crimes “don’t exist”?

Are you getting into holocaust denial now? This is good.

You are frightened by protests? Should we stop protesting the dismemberment and starvation of children because some members of the community feel unsafe? Or is it just Saturdays that are off limit?

Depends what the protests are about. Definitely doesn’t seam like they’re calling for peace. Seeing a whole bunch of stuff calling for the obliteration of Israel which is indeed, scary.

The protests are calling for a ceasefire and rapid deployment of aid. I have not seen any act of violence in these protests, these are the most peaceful protests I have seen in the last decade. Fringe elements exists in every protest, not sure why you would be more scared of these protests than any other.

Glory to our martyrs, free Palestine from River to Sea. Projected on a library, at a school with a huge population of Jewish students, donated by the family of holocaust survivors.

Nothing to see here. I don’t see why Jewish students would be scared.

No i am not getting into holocaust denial. This thread is filled to the brim with the fear of antisemitism and violence against Jews in the US. These hypothetical scenarios are taken as fact, while actual violence and vicious hate crimes are marginalized.

Here is an example of violence at the pro palestinian rally

This is just one example but there were many across the country

Meanwhile, Gaza is being obliterated as we speak.

Yet, it offends you to acknowledge those deaths, so in addition to dying, you want them to die quietly, with no protest.

That Glory to our Martyrs really hits the nurse. If GW doesn’t punish the students who did this, I hope donors pull all funding from them.

No it doesn’t offend me. I acknowledge and moirn those deaths and pray for peace every day. I’m just not also an antisemite like you.

Huh? There is open hostility towards Jewish people right now.

Jewish and Palestinian people are both being threatened right now by extremists.

Religion sucks. DP.

Since you started with an easily disproven lie, I can’t take you remotely seriously. We are literally having this discussion because of 10/7, which apparently you now deny even happened.

You and your clearly insane rhetoric are causing moderates, people like me, to throw our support to Israel. I can’t believe you’d even write the bolded nonsense you did after 10/7. It’s plainly and obviously not true. Why do you promote such easily dismissible lies?

We can start with a simple fact: it is quite obvious MANY people are advocating to kill Jews and Hamas went ahead and made that happen. Don’t deny reality. It’s ridiculous and insults the intelligence of the reasonable people watching denialist nutcases like you.

Whatever you are, you were never a moderate.

You equate people who don’t want a Palestinian genocide as Holocaust deniers and 10/7 deniers. That’s insanity. You’re defending obliterating Gaza as necessary for Jewish survival. The binary that you need to obliterate Palestinians do Jews can live is terrifying.

Don’t lie to yourself, you’ve always been an extremist.

Ummm yes I am afraid of violent protests, of which there have been many when it comes to pro-Palestine. I am not afraid of peaceful protests.
