Looks like a new Gaza war has started

Do you think Gazans would even live there if militants were operating below preschools and playgrounds? Do you think a Gazan man or any man would go to work peacefully knowing a group of random armed men are living 24/7 right below his wife and kids?

What choice would he have in such a coercive environment?

He has a lot of choices. One could be calling Israel and reporting the activity. Hamas does not trust their own people to not snitch on them. They would never do operations within close proximity of them especially by a church.

In addition to the pure logistical impossibility of shooting rockets and test launches from indoors, and the vast evidence of external tunnels , people still want to stick with this weird point of command centers and human shields below civilians. I know it soothes the conscience to pretend everyone in Gaza is culpable for Hamas but it’s not correct.

Human shields is a reasoning every dictator across the world has used to defend mass killing.

If IDF claims that Hamas is hiding below ground, then why is IDF bombing areas above ground and killing civilians? What is the ratio of civilians to combatants that Israel is killing?

How would they bomb underground from above?

Hamas has brought media and journalists over the years to Gaza to record inside their tunnels that they are oh so proud of.
This is no clandestine operation by Hamas. Netanyahu is just so arrogant that he didn’t think Hamas would ever be a problem with their cute little tunnels and little rockets that could . He made all the wrong bets. Betting on a friendship with Putin in spite of the US sitting president, betting on Hamas to not be able to gain the resources needed. Egypt was killing more Hamas members and damaging more tunnels than Israel was.

I mean, there's compelling evidence of launch sites, etc. next to schools, mosques, and the like.

bunker busters, it seems -- some footage of hits, with massive black smoke from secondary explosions, rocket fuel, and stuff.

It is a million times safer than Palestinians in Gaza, so let’s count our blessings.

Ask the DEA. They bomb underground drug tunnels from the border all the time

Good question. As we all know, it is likely extremely high. Based on their announced kills, and using an extremely conservative estimate for civilian deaths, the ratio is hundreds to one.

And if they think the tunnels are running out of fuel, which is why they refuse to let in fuel for humanitarian purposes and supposedly rejected a hostages for fuel deal, then why did they claim Hamas had all those storage tanks of fuel? Presumably it's a smart psyop, but it does continue to decrease Israel's credibility and is a dangerous gamble to play with civilian lives.

So you believe that citizens of this country should feel unsafe at their universities because of a conflict that’s thousands of miles away? Collective punishment much?

There would also be multiple blasts during bombings if there were really were tons of Hamas ammo and explosive stockpiles /storage units under civilian structures

Plenty of footage of such strikes.

I wonder what that ratio is? 7,000 bombs were dropped before this week.
