How do you know that he was not targeted because Israel had information about him being involved in something? Also, why are you so one sided? Don’t see any posts by you about the atrocities that were done to Israelis.

Plenty of people are posting about the atrocities that were done to Israelis. Nobody is posting about this child. Sadly I am not surprised that you would find a justification for the murder. Israelis could literally kill a child in cold blood on video and you would excuse it. Oh, that's exactly what just happened.

Hamas could literally cut a pregnant woman open and kill her unborn baby and you would NEVER post that. One sided, like I said.

As I said, I wouldn't have to because someone else would beat me to it. But, unlike you, I wouldn't post an excuse for it.

You post pro Palestinian messages, exclusively. You have been doing this for years, on every Israel/Palestine thread. Just admit to having a bias. All of your pro-Palestinian messages a basically an excuse for October 7 violence.

I have never denied being supportive of the Palestinians. There is not much to praise about the current Israeli government and hasn't been for many years. I condemned the October 7 attack the day that it occurred. I have no problem condemning Hamas' atrocities but you can't bring yourself to utter the slightest criticism of Israel even when you see a 15 year old brutally murdered with your own eyes. I would argue that I am far more objective than you.

Jeff, I would just urge you to be more critical of what is coming out of Gaza. You were arguably too quick to accept that Israel bombed the hospital and targeted the church.

You also really didn’t seem to want to accept that Shani Louk had her bones broken and was almost certainly raped and tortured.

It seems like you have a fairly low evidentiary barrier for allegations against Israel. That’s all.

As I said, both me and Netanyahu's social media guy were on the same page about Israel having bombed the hospital. Israel did damage the church and killed many Christians. Whether they targeted the church or not is really not important. They are knowledgeable enough to that their attack would cause damage to the church and would have known that civilians would be there. That was considered acceptable. This last video is not from Gaza and was provided by an Israeli group.

Recognize that when it comes to the church being collateral damage in a strike on an enemy command center, that is consistent with international law. I’m sure you know that.

Maybe lawyering the issue helps with your conscience but the fact remains that an Israeli commander decided to that Christian non-combatants were acceptable to be killed. Moreover, what evidence is there that there was, in fact, a Hamas command center? Israel can hit any target it wants and simply say there was a military target near by and almost everyone will accept it.

Such a blatant lie. The church was not a target of the air strike. The wall of the church collapsed killing 16 people as a result of the air strike on a nearby terrorist command center. Was this avoidable? Yes, if Israel did not strike the command center. No one could have predicted that a wall would collapse.

Of course the Israelis would have known what damage to expect and would have know there were civilians sheltering there. It is amazing that one minute the pro-Israeli folks are bragging about Israel's precision bombing and advanced technology and the next the are claiming the military has no idea what sort of damage its bombs will do. They have dropped thousands of the bombs and that's just since the 7th. They know exactly what damage to expect.

No state has weapons precise enough to eliminate collateral damage.

The US certainly doesn’t.

That's not what I'm saying. Both the US and the Israels know the area of bomb damage to expect from their weapons. Therefore, the Israelis would have known that the Christians at the church would likely to be killed.

If it’s still happening, then maybe Hamas is not being killed effectively in Gaza. The rockets are coming from underground tunnels. Israel knows this but still chooses to hurt civilians. This is why they are facing backlash as a country. This is illegal. It went beyond proportionate violence when the first 2,000 Gazans were killed but that’s enough to satisfy racism and blood lust. This is genocide and this is shameful coming from people who know exactly how that pain feels

So what do you want them to do? Sit back while Hamas continues to launch rockets and hope the Iron Dome works?

Send some snipers to the tunnels and fight and rescue those poor hostages . That’s what anyone would do. That’s what Americans would do

Even the best Seal team would not know where to start looking for them. These tunnels are exceptionally long labyrinths with oftentimes little oxygen.

So the best thing to do is continue as is with Israelis suffering from the rockets and Gazans suffering from the bombing?

Hamas will continue sending rockets because they are unharmed. The IDF strategy is either clinical strikes that kill very few commanders, or outright civilian bombing which is hurting Israel’s world standing and Americas world standing for supporting this. How can we complain about Putin bombing Ukraine when indiscriminate civilian bombing is being supported by the U.S. because this time it’s Netanyahu not Putin the bombing? It’s completely hypocritical. People know it’s hypocritical and even within the State Department, there was much dissent among the younger aides

You realize Jeff that the US military has JAG lawyers reviewing bombing targets to determine whether the risk to civilians is justified? Not to eliminate civilian deaths but justify them. This is how war works. Particularly against an adversary that uses civilians as shields.

Yes, I fully agree. This is exactly what I'm saying. The killing of the Christians was not an accident. It was an acceptable outcome according to the Israelis and accepted as such by the country's supporters.

Hamas militants are using the tunnels as their bunkers. They live, eat, drink, piss, and sleep there. According to a few hostages, they were well stocked down there and weren’t shy about using supplies to tend to the hostages even more . They have like an entire Motel 6 down there. They aren’t hiding among the Gazan population using them as literal armor or shields .

This is an excuse Israel uses to justify Palestinian deaths.
If the use of human shields was so wide as to cause hundreds upon hundreds of dead Palestinian civilians, then surely there would be a reporter or an observer on the ground that could have caught a whiff of it. But reporters on the ground could find no trace of such a supposedly widespread action, Jeremy Bowen of the BBC wrote that he found no evidence of the use of human shields while he was covering the assault on Gaza. Similarly, Kim Sengupta writing for the Belfast Telegraph interviewed Palestinians in Gaza and unsurprisingly came to a similar conclusion: Hamas was not forcing anybody to be a human shield, counter to Netanyahu’s claims.

This is hardly the first time Israel has used this accusation to delegitimize their enemies. For example, in the 2006 war against Lebanon Israel accused Hizballah of using human shields. Unsurprisingly, investigations by both Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch similarly found no evidence.

White House statement: “There is an extremely disturbing pattern of antisemitic messages being conveyed on college campuses,” White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates told The Times of Israel.

“Just over the past week, we’ve seen protests and statements on college campuses that call for the annihilation of the State of Israel; for genocide against the Jewish people. Jewish students have even had to barricade themselves inside buildings,” he said.

They are not literally below civilian buildings . Rockets cannot be blown anywhere but outside. You know this.

They have an underground “military metro” from the Egyptian border all the way to the Israeli border and it’s all outside. Gazans can help Israelis find it if they want to on foot. They don’t want to.

One should at least provide the dead the dignity of the term civilian. Calling them a Hamas human shield is disgusting.

Do you think Gazans would even live there if militants were operating below preschools and playgrounds? Do you think a Gazan man or any man would go to work peacefully knowing a group of random armed men are living 24/7 right below his wife and kids?

You realize Jeff that the US military has JAG lawyers reviewing bombing targets to determine whether the risk to civilians is justified? Not to eliminate civilian deaths but justify them. This is how war works. Particularly against an adversary that uses civilians as shields.

The Israelis are not running targets through legal. They may weigh PR impact but that is more about deniability. The US is guide by western values unlike Israelis. Refer to netanyahu's own words on the matter.

That’s all.

Do you think Gazans would even live there if militants were operating below preschools and playgrounds? Do you think a Gazan man or any man would go to work peacefully knowing a group of random armed men are living 24/7 right below his wife and kids?

What choice would he have in such a coercive environment?
