Political Discussion
Hopefully you waste much more of your time worrying about a stranger on a forum. It’s the sane thing to do. |
| PP, you couldn’t be a nastier hypocrite. |
Has anyone said those people acted well? I thought they were already noted as a hate group. I think they are a mainstay at the site and people are used to their bigotry. Also, lets not try to pretend though that the Catholic Church itself doesn't follow much of their same thoughts on gays. If people want to equate the kids to the black men morally, and say they were not as bad, then I can agree with that. They both behaved poorly. Is that really where you feel these kids should be at though after attending a private catholic school? |
Wrong. I've listened to several of those videos. Frankly, I didn't hear any of the things allegedly being said by either side. No one is claiming PHILLIPS said it though, number 1. Number 2, again, not nice things are said at highly charged protests. I've got news for you: after riding on the metro with RTL protesters for YEARS, that includes them. So if you're going to put yourself in that environment, you need to be prepared for it. And, if you're coming in on a moral high horse, then yes, you should do as Jesus would have done. And what he would have done is not what those kids did. |
The "black men" are not at issue here. These kids' ire was directed towards LOTS Of other people having nothing to do with the "black men." I'm circling back to the "white boys" until you all stop making excuses for them. You're a bigger problem, and enabler, than they are. |
I think they are referring to the Native Americans who were telling the boys to go back to Europe. |
That's pretty mild. Perhaps the boys' religion and ethics teachers can have a good conversation with them about that that means. Because really, what's the history behind that kind of sentiment? It seems to me there's some valid angry feelings there (certainly more than when white people tell someone speaking Spanish to go back to their own country, which we know happens all the time). Anyone who has done any amount of reading about the genocide of indigeonous peoples in North America could understand where such sentiment comes from. Perhaps a dialogue with native Americans back in Kentucky would be a good learning experience for the boys to start thinking about what provokes someone to tell them to "go back to Europe." |
| The MAGA teens should be given presidential medals of freedom. That Indian man was harassing them. Shame on him! |
| So, the Indian didn't really serve in Vietnam, apparently. |

This thread has quite quickly devolved into chaos. I don't know about nor care whether commanding officers on foreign bases will send misbehaving dependents back to the USA for doing stupid or illegal things. It isn't useful or interesting to argue with people who make assertions about factual matters without providing a link to support that newly introduced fact (like that Phillips or other Native Americans who were with him during the stare-down by the student supposedly used racist language against the kids.)
I came back to read this thread to see what people thought about the fact that the video that spread like wildfire was reportedly posted by an off-shore account that didn't belong to the person whose name it bears. I actually had posted something on Facebook about how odd I found it that certain worlds and storylines were showing up in multiple places super quickly between Saturday evening and Sunday morning. It seems like the Putin puppets succeeded in heightening animosity within the country, and I certainly played into their hands by posting about this issue multiple times. It doesn't change the fact that the stare-down kid behaved like a prick. It doesn't change the fact that his parents either think his behavior is wonderful or that they know he's a prick but want to hide this fact from the world by hiring a PR firm. It doesn't change the need for people to ignore and walk away from crazies like those Black Hebrews. All I can say is that I hope the people who claimed to see nothing wrong with the stare-down kid's behavior are just former-Soviet people getting paid to sow disunity, rather than my actual fellow citizens of the USA or my fellow Catholics. |
| poor kids. I can't believe the media! sickening |

The "Elder" lied about Vietnam as well...
"Correction: Earlier versions of this story incorrectly said that Native American activist Nathan Phillips fought in the Vietnam War. Phillips served in the U.S. Marines from 1972 to 1976 but was never deployed to Vietnam." |
Marty Baron needs to get off his dead ass and start editing his newspaper. |
|
If you're going to write something like this, then provide something to back up your fact. Otherwise, you're not contributing to a constructive dialogue. Most of us have no time to just taunt one another with schoolyard names. We are here to discuss and learn, and you're little bombs that you throw are annoying.
