I suspect that at the least Bernie Sanders and Jim Clyburn will get something similar to strikes from the jury pool.

I can't see Clyburn giving his assent for THAT White woman, not when
1) She doesn't bring anyone to the table.
2) She's from a state that if it's in trouble, we're doomed.
3) I suspect there's enough out there from Klobuchar's record to actively repel Black voters.

4). It’s the Hispanic voters who matter

5) the Hispanic voters will support anyone that isn’t trump. They aren’t going to vote for cages because they don’t identify with the VP. There are few leaders in politics that the minority groups (Hispanic, Black, Asian, Indian, etc.) can identify with. But they all hate Trump.

Sure they do.

I know it’s a long shot.

But I would really love Michelle as VP.

I really think her voice could calm a nation in turmoil.

+1 Never considered this possibility. The other VP candidates just do not have the charisma of the Obama couple.

Younger than Biden (45-65)
Adds votes (or at least does not cost Biden any votes)

While I would love to see a female on the ticket and/or a person of color, the above four criteria are more important

Yeah, for sure let’s pair a moderate with the already moderate Joe Biden.

You want someone to add votes? Elizabeth Warren.

NP: I think Warren costs Biden as many votes as she gets him. For whatever reason - good, bad, gag-inducing - there's a lot of people who just don't like her.

Are you kidding? Do you know how many people wanted her at the nom but were afraid she’d get the misogynistic treatment resulting in a Hillary type experience? She’s the one people wanted.

I don't know how many, but I do know it wasn't enough for her even to win her home state.

And far from pulling in progressives, they're the ones tearing her down as much as anyone for not doing enough for Bernie or whatever the ff they're mad at.

I LIKE Warren - and I think she's a terrible choice.

Yes, I addressed why in another post. People wanted a known entity nom against Ding Dong. She wasn’t that. That doesn’t mean people don’t like her.

Here we go, the questioning of whether anyone with law&order credentials can be chosen at this point. Klobuchar is out, possible Harris and Demings:

You and I can go back and forth all day. To me, a 70 year old polarizing VP who doesn't seem to spur turnout isn't a good choice. I've seen all those polls, too. They don't convince me she's a good bet. I think, without a doubt, she'd be the best president of any person we can imagine - but I think she's a bad candidate.

Klobuchar would be the best, but she's unlikely to be picked now given the MN situation. Harris has a strong chance, but someone might tell Biden that (soft) racist independents in swing states who are leaning towards voting for him because they are tired of Donald Trump's voice would be turned off by this. So all roads point to Warren. She can speak blue collar and excite some on the left. Not the Bernie Bros who hate her, to be sure, but enough. Guessing some pro-Biden suburban white guys won't be thrilled, but overall, it's the smart play.

The more I read about Val Demmings, the more I like her.

This msy be a case where she becomes the right person for these particular times.

No roads point to Warren who would cause the loss of a senate seat, doesn’t bring a swing state into the mix, alienates centrists (who’s vote is really what is needed), doesn’t motivate minorities to vote and blue collar? She has lived a elitist Harvard life for too many decades.

I agree. Biden doesn’t need California and Harris’ UMC upbringing and political
appointment by her married boyfriend twice her age is just not appealing.

Not a Trump fan. He's an @$$. But, Trump would eat Warren alive. He is great at being an @$$, not leading the country, and Warren is an easy target.

Except she has no experience to do the job. That and other valid reasons as to why we should embrace experienced and capable candidates rather than turn to identity politics.

London Breed and Keisha Bottoms are two lnteresting long shot picks. Breed was one of the few American elected officials ahead of the curve on COVID-19. Bottoms gave a stirring speech that 80% of America would pound the table for in agreement. She seems relatable. They both have a few skeletons but on the surface not as bad as Biden’s son.

Biden has boxed himself into a corner. All his leading female candidates now have some flaws. I think Booker could have been a good choice but he took that off the table.

I like Booker but he also has flaws - some fairly serious ones. Everyone has flaws, once you look at them. There's zero flawless human beings who are eligible for this job, because the only flawless humans are newborn infants.

I like Bottoms. She and Joe are close, so would be a pick he'd be happy with. Not sure how she'd poll in the rust belt though.
