I'm going to be so disillusioned if it turns out the kid wasn't silently praying. That's so disrespectful to all of the prayerful Christians out there.

Probably not now - did you grow up on a base???? Times were different then and YES if you got in to an altercation with crazy people on a field trip you would have been in a huge amount of trouble. I have heard it is different now and snowflake behavior of not taking responsibility for your kid acting like an idiot is accepted.

Grew up on bases in CONUS and OCONUS. Served and deployed to ME. Spouse was company and Bn commander . Kids attended DOD schools CONUS and OCONUS.

Never had a call because of what you describe. Selling or possession of drugs, and firearm at school once.

You are hysterically and completely wrong. Step off faker and liar.

Possible if it happened OCONUS--but, only because it would have likely involved foreign nationals which is a whole other issue. That said, after having worked in schools OCoNUS for a number of years, I NEVER heard of this happening. And, believe me, had it happened, I would have heard about it. There are no secrets on a military post--worse than a small town. And, certainly, DH would have heard about it, had I not. And, FWIW, he was a commander on many levels.
I guess it could have happened if the school was Conus, but highly unlikely in my experience. There are relatively few high schools on military posts CONUS, in any case.
The only time we got commanders involved in the schools was when parents did not show for conferences. And, this would be after several attempts. Also, the occasional child who had need of services we could not provide overseas.

And I went to high school overseas on a base. Kids behaved themselves in public or they got in serious trouble. You know that it is true. You are faker and liar.

The actions of those kids does not rise to the level of calling a commander. No one assaulted anyone, their were no injuries or arrests.

Now the black and Hispanic service members might try to go down and kick the asses of the black Jews for calling their kids the n word and that certain area could be put off limits to service members and dependents because base wouldn’t want further issues. But otherwise peddle your stank elsewhere.

Perhaps our bases were stricter than yours. Evidently our teachers were stricter than covington catholic ones, but I think most teachers are. These kids should not have been behaving that way. They should not have been engaging with crazy ranting preachers, they should not have been yelling things like "Rape is only bad if you don't enjoy it" or whatever that kid said. They should not have been catcalling women and calling them sluts, either.

I hope other schools and parents of teenagers take note that your kid should not be spouting vile things, acting aggressive and get recorded acting like an aggressive jerk if you don't want it to haunt them forever.

We had a few kids over the years who were sent back to the US for extremely bad behavior - yes, involving the host country nationals. It is just imaginable that a teacher would let kids behave like that in public. I can't imagine my kids' teachers letting my kids interact with aggressive crazy people and then behave like a mob at a national monument. They were very aggressive and should not have engaged with the black hebrew israelites AT ALL. The kids were acting like jerks but the chaperones should have put a stop to it IMMEDIATELY.

If you are going to take kids out who don't know how to behave in environment where marches and protests are happening, then at least supervise them!

It's really telling that no one has come on to address this question.

Was their behavior really representing their purported faith that brought them to a rally to speak for the sanctity of life? Why are their parents spending money on a school that has failed to instill Catholic values in them?

Simply by virtue of the fact that they were there defending those who cannot speak for themselves..... the unborn. I know this is hard for you to understand, but that is why they were present.

The social media mob is working overtime in taking these kids down. It is shameful. They are teenagers and still have a lot to learn about the world. I cannot believe that there are adults who condone the actions of social media to cause these kids to be put at risk.

I really hope those who are looking to take legal action are successful. This type of social media shaming is harmful, dangerous, and hateful.

Defending the unborn by excusing rape. Nice.

Do we know that kid ("it's not rape if you enjoy it") and the boys harassing the girls on the street are, in fact, Covington Catholic students? The one is clearly from that area as he is wearing a Bengals sweatshirt.

You know what I saw? After the one kid yells his comment about rape (which was not acceptable at all), the boys around him scolded him... he then retreated into the background.

What did those boys actually say to "scold" him? I'm curious because I can't hear them chastise him.

There is a huge debate in DOD schools presently about sexual assault and bullying among students. There’s no good system of reporting and dealing with such incidents because a company or bn commander has no legal authority to do anything about a dependent. The very most that can happen is a base or post commander bans the dependent from on base activities or stores. Most base command won’t kick a family off base. My neighbor at Bragg had kids doing drugs in the wooded area behind family housing. I called the MPs and took them
Down in the woods and they retrieved the bongs and did a report. I identified the kids. Nothing happened. No command was called.

A 1sgt kid took a firearm to a CONUS school and he was arrested. His father was then arrested for incest and rape of his daughter, the sister. The kids were then placed in foster care and the father found guilty and sentenced to 10
years in Leavenworth.

The dad wasn’t even held pre-trial and lived in housing with his wife.

So again, peddle your hysteria elsewhere.

I don't know that the kid who made the comment about rape is a covington student, but I hope that whatever school he goes to in the cincinnati area sees the video and speaks with him and his parents.
A kid who thinks it is okay to shout things like that HAS NO BUSINESS being at a right to life march. NONE AT ALL.

The kid was obnoxious--but I would like to have heard the whole interaction. It looks like the video skips ahead. But, he is not the kid in question, and that is what the accusations have been about. I would hate to be responsible for what everyone in my class does.

The parents would have to have volunteered to send them back. All commanders can do is ban a dependent from base facilities and base proper. Dependents can’t be forced to leave a country and definitely not by command and definitely not for what the boys did in DC.

So, does anyone have evidence that Phillips is a Vietnam veteran as he claims? I did see the clip where he says, he is a Vietnam times veteran--sounds like he may have pulled a Blumenthal.

So, if he has let that lie stand..........

DOD regulations apply to all DOD schools and bases. Base commanders can enact specific regulations but nobody is calling a co because of an issue like this.

That is awful. I am not peddling hysteria, I am genuinely shocked that things have gone so far downhill. When I was in high school (overseas), kids who committed crimes or were accused of crimes (and most likely had done them, ha) were sent back to the US to live with relatives. PERIOD. There was no staying. This was in the 80s -90s and some base commanders were stricter than others, for sure. The kids were on flights out very quickly. I remember when I came back to the US to take driver's ed while on home leave one summer, I was shocked by how disrespectful the UMC kids were to the drivers ed instructor. I had never seen kids be that disrespectful to a teacher before, like ever. It was disturbing.

Yep. You have to wonder.... why the misdirected negative targeting of these boys? (rhetorical question)

You have to wonder . . . why the rhetorical question instead of just stating your assertion (whatever it may be) outright?

Oh, I have stated my assertion several times. Bottom line: This group of students checks all the boxes needed to be targets of the social media mob.

Yup.
White? Check.
Male? Check
Christian? Check.

Must be difficult to walk around with that crown of thorns on your head.

I'm Catholic School educated and was an active Catholic until the last decade or so. I know the sort of victim mentality they promote. So, I'm not impressed with your whining.

You talking to ME? (I'm the check....check.....check poster.) What makes you even think I'm a Christian? (I gather that's what the Crown of Thorns reference was about because Jesus.) It doesn't take a Christian to see that liberals are OK with bigotry and condemnation against them.
Stop trying to make the kid the victim. He isn't.

My father and uncles were in vietnam, both my grandfathers were in WWII, my great grandfather was in WWI.

I still expect my kid to behave in public and not be an asshole to an elderly person who is in the middle of his own march in public.

Call me crazy for having high standards for my child.

The rush to villianize Phillips just makes the kids look worse and worse.

Accept responsibility for acting like an aggressive mob of ill behaved kids. Blame it on the teachers and chaperones for not requiring you to behave yourself.
Investigation of whether a man or woman is a combat vet as they claim is not making them a villain. If Phillips is what he claims he will get more support and respect from the Vet community. If you wear ribbons badges etc and didn’t earn them you can lose your career. If you claim false benefits from
The VA you can be prosecuted. If you claim to be a certain vet and aren’t that’s your fault for lying because you will be found out.

Trump never served but never claimed to serve. Big difference. There is a special shame for those who claim to be vets but aren’t and they earn that shame with their lies.

Phillips will be either a bigger hero for his Service or a scumbag liar from his own records and words.
