They didn’t say anything about the coach cheating.

Oh honey. The infraction was "proselytizing". That means THE COACH RECRUITED players. That's against the rules. Its cheating. The coach cheated. How can you not follow this logic?

No it doesn’t.

“No it doesn’t” what? Mean he recruited? If not him directly, then someone, because what else do you think that rule means? And as head coach, the buck stops with him as far as his players are concerned. No way did that number of kids and their families up and move (assuming there is in fact no merit to the ineligibility claims) to follow him on a whim, and he never asked questions or knew anything about it but just pushed out some 15 former Hayfield players to make room.

Doesn’t mean the coach did anything. And they didn’t even say what brought them to that conclusion.

Do you have CTE? Traumatic brain injury from playing too much football?

VHSL found the coach violated their recruiting rules.

The VHSL never said the coach recruited anyone. You really should stop slandering the coach.

Who do you think did the recruiting? If not...the coach?

That’s a question for the VHSL. They made the allegation, but didn’t say who. That’s why the decision sounds bogus.

Either you have a sub-80 IQ or are trolling.

That’s a common white supremacist talking point.

It really caught everyone off guard.

What good, kind people they are. Nah.

Funny FCPS doesn't feel bad for the bullied kid or the mom who spoke up who has been hounded. They certainly don't feel bad at all for the original kids who got kicked off or chased off the team. FCPS clearly doesn't feel bad for the school staff who spoke up and had to be reassigned. They clearly don't care about the kids from the other schools who had to put up with this unfair situation. They clearly don't feel bad for the kids left at Freedom with no team. I can keep going.

Go read the FB comments by the Hayfield parents with kids on the team. Also the kids are old enough to know that if they are lying about where they live, they are doing something wrong.

Where are these facebook comments located?

Not going to link to parents Facebook posts but they are easily findable from the coaches Facebook pages and look at who they repost. one parent in particular is very vocal that her kids civil rights have been violated.

They are victims of white supremacy.

FCPS putting out statement that they still fully support Hayfield, everyone is super. If anything people will be promoted.

Do you have FCPS latest statement

@NickyWolcott - Wash Post article and specific link to statement in prior posts from today

FCPS language here is intentional and they focus only on the players they put on the roster. FCPS also only talked about 15 players. VHSL talked about 24- so assume the 9 FCPS never asked about are the real issue.

For question of if Coach Overton did anything. At this point, if FCPS takes no action against him, it better be because AD and Principal are fired- not Gatehouse promoted- and all the social media posting Asst coaches and chaplains are removed so not around minors (not moved to other schools) and rules enforced to limit who has access to kids.

Heads need to roll both at Hayfield and at Gatehouse. These people made everyone in FCPS look bad.

A poster above says insiders say FCPS feels really bad for Hayfield football players is why taking position to support Hatfield. Another pointed out EVERYONE else that is not being supported by taking that position. I agree with 2nd view. Someone should have been pulling Reid aside to have her look at the forest and instead she is not looking at the whole forest or even group of trees or single tree or branch- she chose to focus on single leaf on the forest.

FCPS didn't look at recruiting or effects on other schools. That's outside their lane. They only looked at paperwork for a subset of kids. So either the person who wrote the statement doesn't understand that Eligibility and Recruiting are two separate categories of offenses, or they are trying to muddy the waters.

Totally agree! What about all the lost opportunities for the Hayfield kids who were kicked off the team to make way for these transplants? What about all the kids who were injured in games against this team? What about the teams that might have made it into the playoffs or won the district title if Hayfield wasn't cheating with a stacked squad of RECRUITS?

That FCPS is so narrowly focused and intentionally puts out distorted and misleading position statement is embarrassing at best.

When a program like Freedom loses their coach, there are going to be many transfers. If a decent coach steps in they may have a chance of retaining some of their player, but if not you will get a situation like Freedom has now.

The same thing happened to Stone Bridge this year. Stone Bridge got a solid new coach to come in, but they still lost most of their top returning players.

IQ references are a dog whistle, made louder recently in the most recent campaign and numerous times in this thread. Don’t be disingenuous; it takes away from your argument.

The Virginia High School League notified Hayfield officials last week that it recommended the two-season playoff suspension. On Saturday, Hayfield assistant coach Jeffrey Overton responded to the VHSL decision and posted a response on the X social media platform: “The Devil Is a Liar ‼️ No Weapon Formed against Us Shall Prosper 🙏 We’ve done everything asked the right way , [sic] this is a sick person’s personal attack.”

Wow.

You can find youtube videos with some of the Freedom to Hayfield parents and they all are trying to make this about the mom, Dorsey, who spoke up and her son who they have insulted all kind of sideway ways. If you read comments elsewhere you'll read about how awful the Freedom transfers treated the kids who were already there. It's sick and sexist the way they try to make it about a Karen type mom. They constantly go back to this to deflect from what they did that was wrong. I think some of them were the parents who let the kids use their address. They know they've cheated.

They ignore the fact that multiple people from multiple schools spoke up as well as other parents at Hayfield who are disgusted by this and that teachers and administrators at Hayfield spoke up too.

Thats funny because the Hayfield dad on twitter who helped hire the coach and who has been desperately defending him while accidentally admitting to scores of recruiting violations keeps blaming "Greg" and saying he was the only complainer.

You haven't read much. There are youtube videos from the Freedom to Hayfield parents and FB pages and the coaches all pointing fingers at the mom.
