More compelling? I don’t know about that. Its exactly the same. Horrible abuse incident after horrible abuse incident. She has painted him like a total psycho. But she married him. I try really hard not to judge that but the way she’s describing him, she sounds utterly delusional to be like “but I loved him! Love of my life!”

Which is more common? Women who have been hit leave their spouse immediately after the first time? Or stay with them and are abused for a while - sometimes their whole lives - while rationalizing that the good times and the apologies are the truth of their relationship. He doesn't sound psycho to me. Just like so many garden variety wife beaters.

I find her believable, however, she is the slowest story teller in the world.

Yes. Everyone else is lying. Very single person, every police officer. Everyone but her.

He needs to be looking at her as she testifies. It is a bad look for him, esp with the jury watching.

Why do women get blamed for men's abuse all the damn time? He was like two different people. She loved one of them and she stayed for when that person was the love of her life. But to get access to that person she also had to deal with Johnny Rotten. Women in abusive relationships often have trouble leaving. It's a fact. So why are people so extra suspicious of Heard when she was in a relationship with Depp? I think people just don't want to give up on their childish feelings about what a dreamboat he is. Bleargh.

I'm not saying she was some angel, and maybe she was not always the best person she could have been in the relationship. And, could she have been interested in the money and lifestyle that he had as well as his loving relationship with her, when things were good? Maybe? And if this was happening to me and some rich dude was perpetrating it and nobody was doing anything to stop his behaviour, you better believe I would film it when I could manage it. It would become more about survival for me and less about love, because the power imbalance in the relationship would have been so great. ymmv.

It's like the "is this dress purple or gold" meme, but with celebrities.

Why do you keep missing that she was just as abusive as him? She is not a victim. Neither is he.

Jennifer Grey also said in her book that Johnny was possessive and jealous.

Ah, the forgotten uggo! Must be true.

It’s funny you say that. It could also exactly describe her.

And no, I don’t think he’s a dreamboat. But I do not find her credible. I think she is incredibly theatrical. These scenes she is describing would have been bloodbaths. For someone who loved to record things she should have piles of evidence and the pictures on her phone are incredibly mild at worst. Mostly she just looks like she hasn’t slept. And that chunk of hair that was allegedly ripped out? Was incredibly short to have come from her scalp. She has pretty long hair.

For the record, I highly doubt his testimony was completely true too. I think they were both incredible combustible, toxic people. She has a history of DV with her former partner. He does not. The most anyone has said is he was possessive and jealous, which I do believe.

Interesting point. All that recording and no evidence of physical abuse.

I don’t find her believable at all probably because so many people came forward and said not a scratch not a bruise on her and their time together was so brief. She was cheating on him with Musk just a month after they married.
I think she’s crazy. Really crazy but crazy like a fox to have gotten this far. I’m not a big fan of Depp but when I looked him up he is a very big actor. She was after his money then stepped it up hoping to catch an even richer guy: Musk.
Her face when she was speaking about the carpet (the only part I saw) seemed to fall more into rage and hate lines than what she was saying. Her words said one thing her face another. It’s all fake.
As for other abused women I don’t think she is the best role model or advocate. She’s an abuser herself.

Oh wow. I thought their affair was toward the end of the marriage.

Yea! Why is it impossible for the woman to be the aggressor? In all the years JD has been around, not one woman has screamed abuse, except someone who has a past if DV and obviously wants the attention. Her lip looks like it was dry or she but it. She claimed she was almost beaten to death, but somehow managed to get up the next day to go to a modeling shoot. There are no hospital
Or police records because when the police came, they saw nothing. JD has the tapes, the photos the hospital records. To believe her is atrocious. Her testimony is so theatrical. Her tears, well where were the tears? Oh wait. There was one moment she used a tissue and made sure there was a photo take. Of it.

It’s not that, it pribably is true. But she also said he was funny and sweet. And she never accused him of any abuse or violence.
