Biden's VP?

In the past, it’s never been one of the front runners picked. Pence, Kaine, Ryan.... so who is a bit off the radar?

kaine was never off the radar - he was clearly one of the top 3 picks touted for a long time

I think it's important he pick someone from the middle of the country: Duckworth, Whitmer, Baldwin.

She did horribly in Iowa, doesn't bode well for her appeal to middle America. And she's just too old, her MA seat would be at risk, Trump would have a field day trashing her etc. I also think Joe's team would be hesitant to pick someone who would be consistently stronger than he in just about every respect. I really like her and would vastly prefer her as the nominee, but I just can't see this happening.

I read the part of Florida she represents is trending blue anyway, and there's the experience issue.

Better her than Klobs however: https://www.mintpressnews.com/chief-prosecutor-amy-klobuchar-dismissed-charges-cop-killed-george-floyd/267933/?fbclid=IwAR0slMIFfEXRCwqC2AhI1ecG_wgJHVUO5z1N5Ucna_tFAavKmNYIajzzBDw

A Florida win for Biden means no more Trump

Klobuchar has bad visuals in the post-George Floyd summer.

I suspect that at the least Bernie Sanders and Jim Clyburn will get something similar to strikes from the jury pool.

I can't see Clyburn giving his assent for THAT White woman, not when
1) She doesn't bring anyone to the table.
2) She's from a state that if it's in trouble, we're doomed.
3) I suspect there's enough out there from Klobuchar's record to actively repel Black voters.

See the link posted in 14:07. She declined to prosecute George Floyd's killer in an earlier excessive force case. She's done.

Also - many of the Bernie Bros wouldn't get too spun up about her since the last thing they want is looking racist.

I would want to make sure there weren't any issues from when she was chief of police.

There are issues there, as there would be with just about anyone who had held that position. Could be tricky to manage:

I keep coming back to Duckworth as the candidate few could complain about.

He doesn't need to. Florida and Arizona are already won. Trump has alienated the senior vote by making them sacrificial lambs to appease those insisting that we open up immediately. There are many seniors who are now fearful that Trump and the Republican party want to sacrifice them so that younger people can go to DisneyWorld and go shopping. The senior vote in Florida, which has long been a strong conservative support is now turning their backs on Trump and DeSantis.

Considering that in 2016 he led seniors by 17% over Clinton and he now trails Biden by 10%, that's a huge swing considering that voters over age 65 make up 21% of the registered voters in Florida. And Arizona, another big snowbird and retiree state is trending the same way. Trump is steadily losing more and more senior voter support and he has no plans publicly in the works that will draw them back yet. with only 5 months to go, it may be too little, too late to get anything going that will swing them back to his side.
