Nope - I’m a contractor and we have been informed we will not receive back pay. We can take PTO or LWOP.

Plus, need to prepare to report back quickly after shutdown. I think last time it was within 4 business hours? Anyone else remember? Between that plus no paycheck, this is no vacation.

for us we have 24 hours to return

the fake impeachment has blown up in their idiotic faces.

Votes are scheduled for tomorrow, and the Speaker said that “it’s not the end yet.” Still time for sanity to prevail, but yes, skeptics and debbie downers, the window is closing.

Yeah, we’ll, i don’t have any $$$ to go on vacation if this lasts too long…

but also you have to report to work the next working day after funding is signed by the president, or you are AWOL.

Guess i'm cleaning (read: eating from) the freezer. Maybe going to the library.

Please don’t put it those terms. Feds just want to do their jobs, like everyone else. Nothing — and I mean nothing — about this is vacation-like.

Votes on what exactly? They're running out of procedural time to advance anything.

Yeah don’t know about that. The “moderate” dems in the senate will push for it. Chuck Schumer is not a strong leader.

Are you the same nitwit who is so impressed with the Speaker that you call him McCarthy the Magician? Please.

DP. Not impressed, just hoping for the best—that reason will prevail.

It is only because the Senate is going to vote on a CR tomorrow, per their rules, which the House won't accept. Which means the Senate then has to start their clock again to do another CR (why would they?) which will take days per their rules, so a shutdown is happening. It is unavoidable at the time since what the House could possibly pass won't be the Senate CR.

With all the failed votes the Freedom Caucus feels emboldened not weaker.

It’s ridiculous that these extremists are hijacking our country. I was naive.

Exactly. Not having that paycheck on time will put us in a bit of a crunch as this happens to be a month with added expenses and family events we have to attend. And I'd like to be working, not hanging out all week. This isn't lunch dates and shopping time. not to mention, every day you have to wait around to hear if things will open back up again. After three years of uncertainty I just want normalcy and this ain't it.

The part where you cannot work is like a vacation.
I know, it’s not by choice, but some people, like my relatives, don’t understand it’s illegal for me to work during a shutdown. Vacation against my will, but vacation nonetheless

Except that instead of being on a white sand beach, I’ll be organizing the garage
