which celebs have you met and what were they like?

Wolf Blitzer: literally ran into me (we were both walking) -- he was kind of rude about it, but he was wearing one of those paper collars to keep makeup off your suit and I got the impression he was on his way to cover some breaking news.
Vince Vaughn: we were both in a hellish line to get our kids dropped off for ski school; I inadvertently gave him some wrong info; he was very cool about it, said thanks, etc., even though he clearly knew I had no idea what I was talking about.
Justice Scalia: warm and gregarious.
Justice Kennedy: really down to earth and genuine; his wife is lovely.

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel: she was aloof but seemed OK. He was pretty friendly and down to earth. They were with their kid and we were with ours and our kids played together and we chatted (with JT more than Biel) about weird things our kids do.

Michael Strahan - really nice, funny guy

Ivanka and Jared: bland, polite, very little interest in engaging with the people around them.

Nick cannon at a resort with his kids and a whole bunch of others. By the last day at the pool we talked a bit as we also have twins. The one thing that flabbergasted me is the resort we were at was very mid tier. There are much much nicer, more exclusive resorts. So I teased a little about that and he explained he just has his guys book whatever resort has the lowest occupancy rate during the week everyone can go. He said hes learned that's a much better strategy. Our resort was pretty deserted as we had a mid week package in the middle of the summer so it made sense.

Beck: Sweet, warm, friendly.

Katie Couric: Miniature, total professional, seems nice … hope it's genuine!

OMG how did I forget this one? I also met Beck. We were at a resort this summer and he was there with his whole touring group. Super quiet and reserved. My sons were looking for tadpoles and he was just chilling by some rocks in the water and he said as he swam away "hey, there are a ton over here!" I'm not even sure he knew we recognized him.

did he try to bring you over to the dark side...aka Scientology

Beck now claims he was never a Scientologist...despite previously saying he was a Scientologist.

Marty was an extrovert and genuinely kind to people.

RBG is a stand-offish snob IRL who has no use for people who don’t have the right pedigree or don’t advance her agenda.

The irony is that she would never achieved the success she did without Marty working behind the scenes to advance her career.

This is so disappointing to hear.

Elena Kagan, on the other hand, can be very engaging. She has a very dry wit and can be funny and self-deprecating. Not surprised that she was so popular with a bunch of strong personalities at Harvard Law.

I think people forget just how old Ginsburg is, and that she was raised in a very socially (but not politically) conservative manner. She has no skill at making small talk whatsoever with people who don’t have a similar background or education. She gets along with right-wing Supreme Court justices because they all attended the right schools, made Law Review, and clerked for the right appellate judges.

What you guys interpret as snobbishness I interpreted as being on the spectrum. She seems like she has Asperger’s to me.

She’s a classist, racist a*hole. To imply that’s the case because she on the spectrum is offensive.

I can’t think of anyone less deserving of the fan girl treatment than her. And I don’t get how people can correctly note that scalia was a racist but somehow RBG can be his bestie AND hire ONE black clerk the entire time she’s on the bench (and I think none when she was a DC circuit judge). Yet, “racist” Kavanaugh has managed to hire clerks from diverse backgrounds.

What's Michelle Obama like irl??

Anonymous wrote:Jared Leto, super shy, like he was just trying to blend in, just lounging and standing in line at a coffee shop. Paid for my coffee when I was fumbling around for change (I was 20 and spent all my food money on alcohol)

Hockey goalie Ryan Miller really nice, normal guy, had dinner at my step moms house and he cleaned up everything and used an excessive amount of Saran Wrap. His wife Nora de Wuelff (not sure on spelling) is a total uppity bitch and we are all so disappointed he married her.

LeBron James is friendly but his wife is friendlier and are so much fun to be around.

Kid Rock is actually really intellectual and loves talking about current events and such. Very soft spoken and doesn’t try to be center of attention at all.

And no one believes me but Kim Kardashian was stuck in an elevator w me and was really lovely and sweet and we were both giggling at our predicament. She was so so nice

Way back when I worked with Ryan Miller's aunt. When she found out I graduated from Michigan State, she talked ALL THE TIME about her nephew Ryan who played for MSU, and how great he was. She even sort of suggested that she would set me up with him, which I found mortifying because I was well out of college at the time and wouldn't have considered dating a college kid. I had never heard of him and thought it was weird that she thought I should be impressed that her nephew played hockey for MSU. Of course then he went on to be quite famous so maybe I SHOULD have had her set me up with him-- haha.

Anna Clumsky (VEEP) she was in line with her husband to get her daughter's picture with Santa at a local Maryland mall (presumably when they were filming VEEP in B'more.) Seemed very normal just hanging out in a long line with our squirmy kids with all the other parents.

I also worked at Paul Newman's camp. I wonder if we overlapped? But yes, he was really a lovely person, as was his wife Joanne Woodward.

Ian Gillan was so chill and friendly. To be fair, he was probably stoned at the time. Met him twenty years ago in Moscow at a show, and then here, quite recently.

The rumor about Andy Cohen is that he is a top and picks up young hotties and takes them to his place, but has a bedroom on the ground floor for his hook ups. Once he’s done with you he doesn’t let you go up and just dismisses you.

So jealous

I’ve met a lot of musicians and athletes. They all just wanted to do drugs and blend into the background.

Harold Ramis and his wife- both amazing people. They held my daughter and talked with us for a while. Their kids were adorable and polite. They were teens.

Meg Ryan- she wasn’t too friendly

Michelle Obama- warm and friendly

Andy Dalton and his wife while on vacation- both so kind and friendly. DH still texts with Andy. We also support their charity.

Ben Affleck- seemed a bit full of himself

James Harden- haven’t met him but a relative is a good friend of his. He sends gear to my kids a few times a year. Hope to meet him someday

Tim Duncan- went to college together. Nice guy.
