Fabulous. We've been married a long time and have great children . |
| Not an actual salary bracket, but steady income, yes. |
I have both male and female relatives who have gotten burned by do-nothing spouses in divorces so I would certainly tell my children the same (have a boy and a girl). I’ve always earned about the same money as my husband and either of us could pay all the bills if the other got fired. We never fight about money. We sleep well at night. |

Sorta.
My mother was a young ish widow so I think it’s important for either spouse to be able to support the family. But I don’t expect DH to do what I can’t do myself. |

Salary requirement? No.
Job? Yes. He should have a job. He should be gainfully employed with a drive toward something and a vision in life. |
Agreed. Wanted to marry a grownup who could hold down a job and pay his bills (as I do myself) but I didn't have any kind of salary requirement. |
I've had several dates here in the DC area with mid-40's women who basically are asking questionnaire type questions. This is prevalent in this area with divorced women. Shallow serial daters |
|
No, but if I ever get remarried, I will require a prenuptial agreement. I wouldn't want to marry a gold digger. So he can come with what he comes with and I come and leave with what I came with. Also, not a chance in hell would I ever pay a penny of spousal support.
|
That would be too hard for me, It would eliminate 99% of the dating pool. |
When you buy it on your own in your 20s with no family or spouse to help? Yeah it’s a big deal. considering how many two earner households can’t even afford to buy in the area? What’s wrong with you? |
The IRS should start a matching agency for lunatics like OP. |
+1. Some women on this board just can’t accept that many men are happy with this scenario. |
Prenups do not eliminate the possibility of spousal support. |
But older men wanting to date only "hot" young women is not shallow, right? LOL |
By the time I was 30 I had a PhD, a wife, two cars, and a house, just like everyone else I graduated with from college. Wife didn't work, either. Not impressed by your condo. |
