Nice. Glad to hear that you’re voting thoughtfully.

I would normally vote the best candidate and consider myself an independent (even though I am Democratic leaning). But, this election cycle, I will not vote for a republican in any post. Sorry, Hogan still is GOP. In addition, he has ruined MCPS...so he does not get my vote. I am voting Jealous.

You must be one of those kind Democrats, bless your heart.

Hogan has done a good job the past four years cleaning up the garbage and destruction O'Malley left behind in Maryland, let him continue his work. Jealous's positions are so extreme...more left than California. They have Silicon Valley and Hollywood to pay for their crazy ideas...we don't.

Do this in state and local elections. In federal elections - no. A vote for a republican for national office is a vote for Mitch McConnell and (presumably) Kevin McCarthy to control the legislative branch - for continued apathy and outright obstruction in connection with Congress's constitutional responsibility as a co-equal branch of government.

The MD governor has little say in county school systems. If you're mad about MCPS, vote out the school board and county council.

You just ignored my first part conveniently. I will not vote anyone who leans Republicans this election cycle. Even moderate GOP congresspersons have sided with Trump and his despicable policies. I will not leave it to chance to turn MD purple. If Hogan wants my vote, he has to change party.

You're just as bad as all those Republicans who couldn't bring themselves to vote for Hillary Clinton despite despising Donald Trump.

No wonder we're a so divided country. And the good people in the middle are losing out because of mindsets like yours.

+1 I despise Trump with a passion. National politics is different from local politics, and Hogan has largely tried to stay out of the fray. I, too, am trying to stay out of the fray. I've started to ignore everything and anything Trump says/does because otherwise, I get too angry.

On a national level, all I can do is vote R congress people out. Local politics is different. If Hogan was an outright Trump supporter, then yes, I would not vote for him.

MD needs to be more business friendly. We are losing out to VA.

A vote for Hogan is a vote for Trump. Any person who identifies as a Democrat and votes for Trump and not Jealous is complicit with what Trump is doing.

I'm a Democrat voting for Jealous but you're making us look dumb.

Business friendly is a GOP code word to support ultra rich only. GOP does not support UMC or LMC. Local politics can turn on you when national politics pushes all laws to state. A GOP politician does not have to be a outright trumper to vote for trump's divisive, autocratic and against-law policies. See how Flake, Corker, Collins, Sasse have voted while talking a good talk. So, no to any GOP candidate until GOP cleans up...trust any republican at your own peril.

I wouldn't vote for Hogan but I do understand his appeal among voters in Maryland. Jealous is a fine candidate but Hogan is as skilled as they come. He's mastered being a GOP governor in a liberal state--he takes stances against Trump but then cancels public transit efforts in Bmore and reallocates it to roads. Hogan will probably win by 30 points.

The 495 proposal is absolutely moronic. Invest in transit.
