omg glad I'm not the only one who thought this.

+1. I laughed when I read that.

So you show your 11 y/o porn? At what age did you start with them? Did you skip picture books and go straight to Hustler?

NP here. Don't be stupid! I have never shown my 11 year old porn and had he seen the picture OP describes his reaction at age 11 would be a. "That's fake! " or b. That's gross or That's stupid!." Not screaming and crying. My 6 year old might scream and cry. Actually, my 11 yo might scream and cry too because he would know he would be in massive trouble for purposely looking up porn and then lying about it.

You are not as nice a person as you think you are. A grown up (a parent!) who would mock an 11 year old kid for being scared by a pornographic picture is.......pretty bad.

lmao oh OP. You poor poor thing. None of us show are kids porn but none of our kids would “scream and cry” if they “accidentally” saw it. Your kid is a precious little snowflake and you better shelter him in a little bubble at home to make sure nothing else can upset the poor child.

+1. And OP better do her best to make sure that her son never has to take a school bus or that his friends do not have phones. Because at 11YO, that "disturbing" image thing is just getting started.

You people are so fake. You know that if your kid saw that same image you’d be freaked out and so would your kid. If your kid wasn’t freaked out, then failed as a parent.

I'd go as far as to say if your kid DID freak out you've failed as a parent.

He's 11, not 4.

Nope, I would not be freaked out and neither would my kid to the point of crying and screaming. But then again, I have raised three kids and I am fully aware of the things that kids that age can run across. I am also aware of the pranks that kids pull on each other to get each other to look at these types of images.

eh, I might be skeptical that my kid had been pranked by a friend into pulling up that image and was covering it up by acting terrified and crying. Better to get sympathy than a punishment, right?

That does not mean that Op doesn't know her own kid well enough to see that he was genuinely upset.

I'm not mocking the 1 year old. Please work on your comprehension and stop pulling things out of your behind because people don't agree with you. What I and others have said is the screaming and crying is not a typical reaction of an 11 year old.

You are mocking this kid. Not all kids are the same. Maybe yours is exposed to more adult stuff but clearly this one is not. I think an 11 who still has some innocence is a good thing. Why do these kids have to grow up so fast and be so immune to everything in the adult world? I would hope an 11 has never been exposed to that kind of thing and would be scared and shocked and upset. Expect kids to handle adult stuff like adults is ridiculous and sad.

O.k.....but it apparently is the reaction that Op's kid had. That doesn't make the kid a wimp or snowflake. Maybe something about the picture legitimately terrified him. Maybe he is starting to go through puberty and has a little bit of a belly and man boobs to go along with it all. Maybe seeing a picture of a grown man/woman with boobs and a penis completely freaked the kid out.

That is such a hard age for a kid, who knows what was going through his mind when he saw that very unexpected image?

+1 MOST 11 year old kids would be weirded out by that picture. That is not something that most kids have ever seen before.

No I'm not mocking him. I am saying his reaction is atypical for an 11 year old. The majority of 11 year olds would ot scream or cry. They might be grossed out or think it's weird that's not an adult reaction. An adult would not be phased at all.

Weirded out is not screaming or crying. Most 11 year olds would not do that. Do you have an 11 year old?

Seriously dude, you are lacking the context of this kid's life. You don't know him. You don't know what about that picture freaked him out. There can be a fine line between weirded out and freaked out. I'm not about to make fun of a kid who got freaked out by it.

NP, it's not making fun of the child to acknowledge that being scared and crying is an exaggerated reaction to this situation from an 11 year old.

True. I don't know his life, but that doesn't change the fact that screaming and crying in this context is an atypical reaction for an 11 year old. That's not making fun of the kid.

Who are you to say what’s typical for an 11 year old? Are you basing that on the supposed reaction of your own kid? Are all kids supposed to react the same way you assume your kid would? You don’t actually know at all how your kid or any other would react. Heck, I’m an adult and no prude and I was taken aback when I saw that photo. I closed it pretty darn fast. Calling a kid a snowflake because he isn’t blasé about a graphi pornographic image is pretty low.

PRecisely. I grew up very very religious and sheltered and I can say that at 11 screaming and crying would not have been my reaction or the reaction of my peers and I assume you none of us had seen porn.

I can see n 11 year old screaming and crying in that situation if he thought he was going to be in trouble for looking at something he shouldn't have even if he truly did access the picture by mistake I can see an 11 year old thinking they would be in major trouble with mom.

How do I get to the picture? Type MINTS TS in google? Now I want to see it.
