Anyone tried Peleton Bikes for the home?

I don't understand why Peloton charges $12.99 a month for the app and $40 a month for the subscription if you buy their bike. What do you get with the subscription that you don't get with the app? It looks like they both feature live classes and the prerecorded class library.

I got an ear plug extension on amazon for about $7, it will extend your cord from your Apple ear phones. Much cheaper than the peloton ones and those have a gigantically long cord that can get tangled.

You get total integration with the bike vs the app. It doesn't seem much and maybe it isn't to some, but I've really come to depend on reading the cadence/output/resistance numbers. I get better and more complete workouts with the Peloton than I ever did in my regular spin class because "turn the knob a 1/4 turn" becomes totally useless at some point.

Yes. You can try a class. Is a bit weird to do it in the show room though!

Has anyone successfully been able to cast the Peloton screen to a smart tv? We have a Vizio and my Peloton isn't listing it on the list of devices.

We hooked up ours to speakers and found the sound quality was much better. I crank it up! Have not managed to cast though.

Yeah, I was hoping they had some more private space in the back, but I looked at the FB page for the showroom in Montgomery Mall and saw photos of crazy people spinning in front of the picture window with shoppers walking by. No, thanks!

Call and ask if they have one further back. Some showrooms do.

Has anybody had issues with Peloton customer service? I was looking at the reviews on the Peloton website and saw that most people are really happy, but there is definitely a decent-sized minority who say that they had major problems with the operation of their bikes and that Peloton customer service wouldn't help them get them fixed or was unresponsive.

I can't imagine anything worse than sitting on a Peloton bike going nowhere. I run. I need the change of scenery.

Why on earth are you in this thread with your totally non-responsive answer? Saying "I think I want to be Harry Potter for Halloween" would be as responsive. I do not get people like you. Can you read?

I drove to Tyson's to test ride the bike and they had two reserved in the back, away from the store and prying eyes.

I got my bike in February and had two instances which required customer service, and they were great every time I needed them. The first was due to a faulty cable which displayed the censors on the screen. They helped me get it fixed temporarily but had a new cable (and a new heart monitor, just in case) shipped out and on my doorstep two days later. The second was due to loud squeaking from the pedals while riding, and we had to troubleshoot a few times before they sent me out brand new cleats, which took about a week total. All in all, I'm happy with the service I received.

Shortly after we purchased the shoes, the clip on one of them broke. They replaced it for free quickly. No complaints.

Any tips for getting into the peleton / spin in general? My husband got one and likes it, I've tried a couple times and just can't get into the class. It seems both hard and boring and I'm counting every minute. Any suggestions? I'd love to like using it, I'm typically a runner or go to Orange Theory but with scheduling conflicts lately I need to work out at home more.
