What is something you'd never admit outloud...

I would never go to their country and shit all over their customs, people and language. If I thought it was that bad I certainly wouldn't move here permanently. For some of the people I'm thinking of, being here instead of their native European country certainly allowed them a nice life of being a SAHM while receiving Medicaid and other benefits for their children they had here.

Not anymore! This makes sense to me. Go back to ____ if you don't want to work.

I've started telling them that. I just have no patience for it. Why are you here if America makes you miserable? Not to mention it's rude as hell to behave that way. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Yes, I know someone like this. Complaining constantly about things like ice automatically being put in drinks, no cafe can make a proper cappuccino, etc. Meanwhile she was a SAHM for many years, lives in subsidized housing in a neighborhood I could never afford, and her whole family was covered by Medicaid. There was still plenty of "fun money" for trips to Europe in the summer, weekend ski trips and meals out. She is able to work in this country and got a job last year which provides medical benefits and she now constantly complains about premiums and copays since she has to actually contribute toward the medical care of her family.

His openness and direct answers are so different. The traditional sneaky ass politician speak looks so dishonest anymore.

I think there's a ton of us.

I also love him. There are many of us in the DC area. You just can't admit it out loud around here. This is why Trump won. We keep quiet while liberalism is shoved down our throats, and then we go out and vote.

I feel the same way at times.

Well if you live around DC and "went out to vote," you didn't help Trump at all since VA, MD, and DC went blue.

I think closeted Trump supporters are pathetic cowards. You're either ashamed of your views, which means you know in your heart your attitude is wrong, or you fear social condemnation, which means you're just weak. Either way, it's just pathetic.

What gets me is that we were not Obama fans, but we didn't go out there and trash him as well as anyone who supported him. It's definitely a double standard here. I think some of the other quiet people in our circle also voted for and support Trump, but at the risk of losing friendships and being labeled racists, we just don't get into a debate.

While I don't always agree with how he delivers the message or his tweets, you gotta love how he just doesn't give a rat's ass about keeping certain special interest groups happy so they'll support him. I do truly believe he wants to make our country a better country and keep everyone safe. He also is not positioning himself for the next election - he has enough money to do whatever he wants and he's going to do what he thinks is best for our country's economic future without pandering to special interest groups or worried about what whatever group thinks of him b/cs that will cost him $$ in campaign contributions.

He may not be positioning himself in the policy sense, but within days of his inauguration he established his official reelection committee, which allows him to legally start raising money for 2020. A couple of days ago, he announced a big fundraiser-- to be held at the Trump Hotel in DC. So he's already raising money and funneling it into his own pockets under the guise of running for reelection.

+1. I'll admit that out loud. Most UMC parents will too. Just maybe not at the office.

Meh. "The Wall" should be military at the border, high-tech radar, drones, E-verify, employers found employing illegals face prison & massive fines, no drivers licenses for illegals, don't allow illegals to enroll in public schools w/o proper papers, challenge birthright citizenship at SC to end anchor babies.

Think the horse is out of the barn on that one.

I deal with them because they are my kids' friends' parents.

I hate standing on the sidelines with white males with a huge bellies, tucked in collared shirt and loafers screaming at their child. I know their kid will never live up to their expectation in school, on the field or their college acceptance list. I watch one by one as each parent is disappointed in their kids and their kids know it. I watch really nice kids turn in to douch bags like their dad and it makes me sad... Chasing money.

I am PP who said that I don't want to live near poor people. I don't believe this is entirely true. There are a lot of poor people (mostly Latinos and Asians IME) who work their behinds off, and they will never get ahead.

That Its so hard to talk to my sister because I totally disrespect her for after only 2 months into her sepataration is going back to her cheating husband, who was in a long term affair for at least 2years. He treated her like crap in those 2 months and said the most vile things to her that he now say he "didn't mean". He is still lying but she says he has learned what he almost lost and has one more chance. She went back for the lifestyle and because all her friends and siblings are married.

I have never heard anyone admit this in real life except by saying they want "good" schools or N not S Arlington, Bethesda not Silver Spring.

I'm glad that most of these thoughts are left unsaid.

I was an unwilling participant in forced busing, to achieve racial integration, when I was in high school. It was awful. Just awful. This has affected me to this day and hence my thoughts about social engineering to achieve "diversity."

Fast forward to recent years. My oldest started in public school which was diverse, especially compared to when I was in public school. By the time my 2nd started public school (three years later) the decision was made. No more public school. You can't gamble with your child's future. There were kids showing up for the first day of school who did not know their numbers, letters, shapes, couldn't recognize simple words, etc. There were kids with no sense of appropriate behavior and you wouldn't believe the language coming out of some of these kids' mouths. I suspect they had been sitting in front of a screen since shortly after birth.

It only takes a few to affect the classroom and the ability of others to learn. I wanted my kids to go to school with their peers and it wasn't in this particular public school. Private school was the way to go.
