Which are the top 2 school clusters in NoVA?

If this is an APS parent, she is able to send her kids to Yorktown if she wants, even if she doesn't live in-bounds. There are open transfers to Yorktown (and Wakefield) from either of the other comprehensive high schools. The only schools you can't just opt into are W-L and H-B, which require applications/lottery. So, that's not the issue.

I don't know about that. We're in Fairfax and go over to Arlington enough and there are several other things I really like about Arlington. If I could afford Arlington we'd probably move even though it would be a longer commute.

I don't know about that. We're in Fairfax and go over to Arlington enough and there are several other things I really like about Arlington. If I could afford Arlington we'd probably move even though it would be a longer commute.

I don't know of anyone zoned for Langley, McLean or Oakton who couldn't afford Arlington. Woodson, maybe.

It's not just NoVa natives who feel this way. And by some measures, the gap between Langley/McLean/Madison and the other schools is expanding, not narrowing.
