Money. And some people are just crazy, they don't make rational decisions.

If something like this garnered enough attention she could get a book deal. She might get paid to do an interview. This is America where if you are famous you can easily become wealthy (Kardashian) and also President.

If she were truly starving, dehydrated, "branded", severely beaten, etc. - wouldn't she have been admitted? So strange. This whole story makes no sense. And the investigators haven't been able to get any kind of a clear picture about what happened, because she doesn't seem to remember. Just smells fishy.

This is a HUGE red flag to me. There is no way in HELL that a woman who was missing for 3 weeks, starved to the point of losing 13 lbs, visibly branded, and bruised all over her face with injuries so much more horrifying than can be imagined (in her husband's words) would be treated and released in a matter of hours. There is just.no.way. The cops would want to run every test known to man and have her tested, observed and interviewed. It would take way more than a few hours. This alone makes me think it's a hoax.

Is that her in the picture on her mother's FB page?
Link please

Something tells me this case is kinda off. If she was released within a day, she wasn't as badly beaten as the media make it out to be. Also, patients have the right to refuse treatment. If that is so, why the rush to be released so soon and not treated. Sheriff departments need doctors expert evaluation of the bruises and assault.
I'm sure the ex-husband (which I read was mentioned once) can give you some ideas on what type of person she is.

All the pictures of her make her seem like she is an attention seeker. Same with the husband, posting this/that. Most people will just say, please give us some privacy. From the beginning, this case has been saying, please give me some media attention. And she has the face for entertainment industry.

I had no idea her husband worked at Best Buy. Sounds like they are having money issues.

Working at Best But diesn't necessarily translate into making minimum wage. IIt' a corporation with all types of jobs, some of which almost certainly pay quite well.

Please step out of the DCUM area bubble. They live in a semi-rural area in way, way Northern California. As in four hours by car north of San Francisco. I am amazed someone would think corporate job in a town of less than 100,000 - and that city is the county seat. I looked it up and her husband is a "home theater specialist". I can't imagine it "pays well."

You may or may not be correct. I doubt this is accurate info. https://www.glassdoor.com/Hourly-Pay/Best-Buy-Home-Theater-Specialist-Hourly-Pay-E97_D_KO9,32.htm

OK. Now he is saying she had a bag over her head when she was found but I read elsewhere that she went to a nearby church but found it empty (bc it was 4:30 am) and then ran back along the roadside. And she did all this WITH A BAG OVER HER HEAD????

Why? She tries to portray a perfect life. Divorce is the failure of a marriage.

The official info from the police said she was dumped from a car with her hands chained and a bag over her head. She freed one of her hands and used the bag to flag down a passing car. Why did you not think she took the bag off her head as soon as she could?

I'm as skeptical as anyone but this is sounding scary real to me. I think we wish it was a hoax because it's pretty awful if it is true, but the police themselves have been clear that her husband passed a polygraph (not proof, but it helps) and she had injuries that corroborated her story.

She was released from the hospital because none of her injuries indicated she needed to stay overnight and after an ordeal like that, I'm sure she preferred to be home with her family.

My only looming question is if this was real, why was she allowed to live?

Some of the language that the sheriff's department is using seems to indicate that they don't completely buy her story, but they're trying to keep it close to the vest.
