Sherri Papini: Does anyone think it's a hoax?

Anonymous
I do think it's a hoax. There are simply too many details that seem to be unusual:
-kidnapping a random, wealthy looking white woman for a sex trafficking ring is suspicious--there are far more vulnerable people out there
-women committing violent crimes also unusual
-being let go without significant injury is miraculous
-also miraculous, being let go right before Thanksgiving--maybe so the kids wouldn't be even more traumatized than they are?
-hostage negotiator is bizarre
-husband's behavior and online media presence is unusual

Having one odd detail is probably normal, but having so many odd pieces should sound the alarm of a hoax

This is very interesting. PP here and I'm back to thinking hoax.

Why would she/they leave the house re: PTSD? She wasn't taken from the house, right, she was out jogging?

Hoax. I think she has some kid of crazy personality disorder and wanted the attention.

Good point. I might just hole up in my home with my family and dogs for months if it were me.

They do seem to have a large number of professional-looking pictures of themselves. (One pic even looks like it was taken on a private plane.)

Longer this goes on without any real details from authorities more I am convinced this was a hoax. Oh that plus the similarities of this story to her weird anti Hispanic blog post on the skinhead website about a decade ago.

Random detail: most of the professional photos the media used since she went missing had her husband in the photo. Not sure if the media requested photos and that's what they were given, or these were the photos the family used to spread awareness, but the family made the decision to use these particular photos. Not a photo of just her by herself, not a photo of the family with the kids' faces blurred out. Photos of them two. And more than one. That's strange.

Huh?? I don't have any photos of just me because I am not Kim Kardashian taking selfies.

I am a mom. I am the one that's usually behind the camera---lots of photos of my kids and husband---but not many of me...and definitely NOT of me by myself. I am either with my husband, friends and family in photos.

Internet detectives attempting to solve high profile crime mysteries in their bathrobes is a growing phenomenon on social media sites like Reddit. And if this amateur sleuthing can sometimes create a real mess (e.g. Pizzagate), in other instances it can be quite illuminating.

Take the kidnapping case of California “Super Mom” Sherri Papini, which may be perfect for such an investigation. It’s sensational, bizarre and has left detectives scratching their heads. The Internet, however, thinks they’ve got this one solved.

I am convinced it was a hoax. They made 50k (which they clearly need), smeared Latinos, and got a ton of attention. Hope she goes to jail.

You are an idiot! You and the others going on about this case is more bizarre then the crime itself. I live not far from where this happened and it's no longer in the news or even talked about. Some of you people are truly nuts. Go back to the Polical Forum where you came from.
