Sherri Papini: Does anyone think it's a hoax?

That's what I read too. Several women missing near that region. Then again, missing women are common-not that it is ok. it would be the same around here with the different counties and women missing often.
But, the current cases are not getting much attention because they are not turning to media for help and the missing women are not as attractive as Pappini. Perhaps, turning to the media is the way to find people faster, regardless of the critics.

It has all the makings of a hoax. The radio silence is strange--unless the police are building their case against her. But, dang, the husband was believable on 20/20!

So it sounds like those of us who guessed she was having an affair were right. This article says she had been texting a guy and trying to meet up with him.

The WashPo article (or maybe WUSA 9 - I read both this morning on this case) said that the meeting with the man was work related.

I've always thought that the one person in the sketches of the abductors looked male (the one with the darker kerchief covering the lower face) and now they've released that male DNA was found on her body.

I do not believe this woman as far as I can throw her. And with my bad knee...

I'm sure losing a friend like that in her youth made an outsized impression. She maybe got the idea for the hoax from that incident.

That's my point! Her M.O. isn't even original.

But what would be the point of doing that?

The ransom money.
Book advance money.
Fame & fortune from 20/20 type exposure.
Covering up an affair.
Leaving her husband.
Helping her new boyfriend (the shady negotiator) get his own business some street cred.
...plenty of reasons. Not GOOD reasons but they're reasons. Things got out of hand, though, and now she's in trouble.

+1

She is a drama mama - and now she is screwed.

So glad the truth came to light!
