$180 per year? For a Superintendent/Chancellor????? That's what building principals make! Wasn't Kaya making much more--$280+?
What's with the low salary? I thought the $400+ sounded a bit high but $180?????
Wilson will make a base salary of $280K in DC.

To clarify about Wilson's $400k salary in Oakland: According to transparentcalifornia.com, Wilson received a compensation package worth $400K in 2015. The package included salary ($293,835.95), "other pay" ($9,600.00), and benefits ($96,660.61). Now, take home pay just shy of $300K is still a lot, but I just wanted to get the real numbers on here.
There is a more interesting conversation to be had about why his salary jumped a whopping 30% from 2014 to 2015 (search for "Antwan Wilson" in the transparentcalifornia.com database and you'll find two salary records). This seems particularly high when you consider the tense negotiating that when into getting a 14% raise for teachers in 2015.
