Thinly qualified officials are hired (in Bradley's case, not sure she was actually hired, but whatever) bc they're down with advancing an agenda based on testing and "reform". LEAP!!! Surprise, it doesn't "work." The churn continues.

I guess most dcum children will be okay. Somehow. I'm a little worried about the impoverished children who make up most of the DCPS population.

Bradley has no job with DC government.

Jennie Niles sets policies for all DC schools and supervises the chancellor but has other responsibilities too (DPR). Wilson will have his hands full with DCPS.

[/b]Happy my own kids are in charters and thus are insulated from some of this.

Do you know the qualifications of your children's HOS and the members of the DCPCS? Most charters in this city were established by people with few and far credentials and experience in education. It was either a business for them, or they simply did not want to send their kids to DCPS.

That was true of some charters at the beginning. Remember the infamous "Mama" Anigbo, who had an Afro-centric curriculum charter and had school muscle throw physically assault a reporter from the Washington Times who was digging into reports of personal enrichment?

Other, later charters have been a great success. Look at the Washington Latin school.

Mama Anigbo was convicted of assaulting three school visitors, including a Washington Times reporter, and subsequently her own charter fired her for stealing money.

So true. In 2015, the Head of School/CEO at Excel Public Charter (also Board Chair at the school) retired from her job at Reagan Airport and took the position at Excel = two pots of money. How much prior background running a school? ZERO

Although the first Washington Latin HOS was a loon and essentially was run out of town in October of year 2 of its operations. The board then replaced him with Martha Cutts, who was terrific and recently retired after 9 years in the position.

But yes, parents should review the credentials of charter school administrators and board members before enrolling their children.

Are Latinos and Latinas excluded from DC jobs for some reason?

What answer do you expect? The former State Superintendent Jesus Aguirre was Latino.

The question is about NOW.

You mean the answer is Zero?

Where is NAACP to address this blatant racism?

Maybe Aguirre, who was not qualified to serve in the position, will move back to D.C. for you.

Are you saying that there are zero Latinos because the one random guy before was not qualified?

Do you know how many Latinos and Latinas live in DC?
