In at Sidwell, St. Albans and Potomac - 6th. In utter shock right now.

Potomac is the right choice

Where do you live?

Fairfax

I am the OP regarding where my son was accepted. We live in MD. Not sure why anyone would post and pretend to be me.

We have no idea which he will accept. We did not bother to pick our favorite before now because we never expected to have these choices.

Congratulations! Can you share your DS's SSAT score or an approximation? And if DS is particularly accomplished in an extra-curricular activity/sport. Just curious as to what it takes for a kid to get into all three like this. Did you not apply for GDS, Landon, or Maret?

In at NCS and Holton, 4th.
Not sure why people keep claiming NCS has the better academics, Holton academics look great and their STEM/engineering stuff is astonishingly strong. Wish I could compare college lists but NCS doesn't publish theirs. Grrr.

DD thrives under pressure, which folks seem to think says NCS, but DH and I are conflicted. Love the facilities and forever-uniform at Holton, but the NCS commute is much easier.

Not a dog in Holton NCS fight but for college placement I would honestly go with NCS if DD can deal with pressure. It has a better name but is a pressure cooker. We looked at both and only applied to Holton.

Hmm - why doesn't NCS publish it's college lists? Doesn't everyone else?

Does WL=rejection? Any outright rejections out there?

No, it doesn't necessarily mean rejection.

Yes - outright NCS rejection here. Got into our first choice anyway, but it still stings. Unexpected.

Anonymous wrote:Thanks. Does STA ever move their wait list? This is our second year in a row to be on WL. For STA is a WL really a polite no?

Its ok, PP. STA WL is real. My son goes there and he had friends who were outright "no's" the year he applied. Hang in there and re-apply if the WL doesnt work out. 6th and 7th are great years for "un-hooked" applicants.
