No question- affair. At least I know he isn't victimizing some poor woman, in that case. |
Have the totally opposite POV. With a prostitute, it is like he is watching a porn movie or reading Playboy - a purely commercial transaction. With an affair, who knows how deep the emotions run? And how can he then feel the same about DW? If you read the threads - NSA, FWBs - and end up with some emotional end. Agree with pPP - legalize it and exploitation goes away. |
I personally disagree. Exploitation still occurs in places where it has been legalized, like Amsterdam. Some of what those women have to go through is truly horrifying. |
|
Legalizing and regulating it will reduce a lot of the exploitation and danger.
What happens when the woman wants to be paid for sex and goes into this willingly? They need to be protected still. |
| I don't think of prostitutes as victims. To me they are powerful woman who have the best job in the world. If it wasn't a crime I would do it . How awesome to get paid to have sex. I think having sex for free is awful, probably why I'm single. I feel like I'm worth more then free. |
Have you considered SeekingArrangement? You might really love it. And you only sleep with one person and can get paid a lot. |
| ^and it's legal. |

Look, the problem isn't with men seeking out and paying women for sex. The problem is with people essentially forcing others into slavery -- where the woman loses her ability to consent. Some slaves are forced into prostitution, some are forced to clean houses.
Slavery is wrong. Knowingly having sex with a slave is rape. But, not all prostitutes are slaves. I think, at the legal brothels in NV, they are not trafficking.... |

This interview with men who actually use prostitutes doesn't seem to have many complaining about frigid wives. It does, however, show that they are keenly aware of the slavery aspect of the trade. And they just don't care.

And more research. Again, not much mention of frigidity at home, although everyone would love to use that excuse.
"Neil McKeganey, co-author of Sex Work On The Streets: Prostitutes And Their Clients, spent three years interviewing prostitutes and their customers. He agrees men use prostitutes as an easy alternative to tackling complex modern dating. “Some men pay for sex because of the limited nature of the contact and the fact that it's a straightforward transaction. The men we interviewed were almost intimidated by relationships on an equal footing. They found it hard to tell partners what they wanted,” he says. “In previous times, when a man may have felt he was much more dominant in the relationship, he would be less troubled by displaying his preferences, because a woman was only there to do what he wanted.” Dr Boynton agrees that many men turn to prostitutes for sex without any emotional strings. “Dating is evidently so baffling that some men would prefer to get sex without worrying about who should pay for dinner or how often they should phone a potential girlfriend,” she says." http://www.relationship-love.com/advice/cheating/cheating-spouse.html |
No, they do it because that's how they can make the most money with the assets they have. |
Absolutely sickenining and so sad. I will never understand men. And I'm quite glad of that. |
You do, actually. You get to decide what goes into your vagina. You, and no one else. Your vagina is your undivided kingdom. And so is your husband's dick. He gets to decide where to put it. If he doesn't want to put it in you, he won't. Yes, he gets to reject people he doesn't want. |
And if you aren't letting him put it in you as often as he'd like, he has the power to go and do something else with it. |
| A friend of mine owned a brothel in Germany (known as FKK clubs), where prostitution is legal. It was highly regulated and the police would make visits and check paperwork if there were any reports of wrongdoing. His workers came from various parts of the world, including a lot from Eastern Europe, and some from South America. From talking with him, it sounds like no one was being forced into it. He had no incentive to do so. He wanted to be sure they were all of legal working age and had their paperwork, as he wans't going to risk getting his business shut down by one girl. He had little incentive to "traffic" them. |
