To men who have seen prostitutes...

Sometimes I wonder if a wife would rather have her husband go to a prostitute or have an affair?

No question- affair. At least I know he isn't victimizing some poor woman, in that case.

Have the totally opposite POV.
With a prostitute, it is like he is watching a porn movie or reading Playboy - a purely commercial transaction.
With an affair, who knows how deep the emotions run? And how can he then feel the same about DW? If you read the threads - NSA, FWBs - and end up with some emotional end.
Agree with pPP - legalize it and exploitation goes away.

I personally disagree. Exploitation still occurs in places where it has been legalized, like Amsterdam. Some of what those women have to go through is truly horrifying.

Legalizing and regulating it will reduce a lot of the exploitation and danger.

What happens when the woman wants to be paid for sex and goes into this willingly? They need to be protected still.

I don't think of prostitutes as victims. To me they are powerful woman who have the best job in the world. If it wasn't a crime I would do it . How awesome to get paid to have sex. I think having sex for free is awful, probably why I'm single. I feel like I'm worth more then free.

Have you considered SeekingArrangement? You might really love it. And you only sleep with one person and can get paid a lot.

^and it's legal.

Look, the problem isn't with men seeking out and paying women for sex. The problem is with people essentially forcing others into slavery -- where the woman loses her ability to consent. Some slaves are forced into prostitution, some are forced to clean houses.

Slavery is wrong. Knowingly having sex with a slave is rape. But, not all prostitutes are slaves. I think, at the legal brothels in NV, they are not trafficking....

This interview with men who actually use prostitutes doesn't seem to have many complaining about frigid wives. It does, however, show that they are keenly aware of the slavery aspect of the trade. And they just don't care.

And more research. Again, not much mention of frigidity at home, although everyone would love to use that excuse.

"Neil McKeganey, co-author of Sex Work On The Streets: Prostitutes And Their Clients, spent three years interviewing prostitutes and their customers. He agrees men use prostitutes as an easy alternative to tackling complex modern dating. “Some men pay for sex because of the limited nature of the contact and the fact that it's a straightforward transaction. The men we interviewed were almost intimidated by relationships on an equal footing. They found it hard to tell partners what they wanted,” he says.
“In previous times, when a man may have felt he was much more dominant in the relationship, he would be less troubled by displaying his preferences, because a woman was only there to do what he wanted.”
Dr Boynton agrees that many men turn to prostitutes for sex without any emotional strings. “Dating is evidently so baffling that some men would prefer to get sex without worrying about who should pay for dinner or how often they should phone a potential girlfriend,” she says."

Why would he do that you say? Because he needs the discretion because he is married or has a high profile job. He just wants it to be a one time thing with no strings attached. He wants to fulfill any fantasies that he cant fulfill with his wife/girlfriend. The money he waste on wine and dining a female, he can just pay to her directly. He can pay and sleep with a female that he is attracted to. Emotions and a connection arent needed.

Lets just say i know something about the lifestyle.

Ah, the lie of the happy prostitute. Yes, every prostitute is just like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Or at least most of them. They do it because they love men, not because they have a drug habit, or need to support children, or are trying to scramble out of property, or have an abusive pimp. Yes. You are so right. Which is why they will so happily fuck you when you dont pay them.

Men who delude themselves into thinking this is okay truly disgust me.

No, they do it because that's how they can make the most money with the assets they have.

I'm curious to know why you feel it's ok not to engage in sexual relations with a man you are married to and not expect any repercussions. I'm not talking about physical limitations, just "I don't wanna". What makes women so special (and before you start in I AM a woman) that they feel they can behave like this?

I predict crickets on this one, but what the hell do I know.

I'll get attacked. Guaranteed.

I really want to know why any woman feels that her feelings and needs are more important than her husbands. Vaginas don't give you special privileges. You don't get to reject people because you have one.

You do, actually. You get to decide what goes into your vagina. You, and no one else. Your vagina is your undivided kingdom. And so is your husband's dick. He gets to decide where to put it. If he doesn't want to put it in you, he won't. Yes, he gets to reject people he doesn't want.

And if you aren't letting him put it in you as often as he'd like, he has the power to go and do something else with it.

A friend of mine owned a brothel in Germany (known as FKK clubs), where prostitution is legal. It was highly regulated and the police would make visits and check paperwork if there were any reports of wrongdoing. His workers came from various parts of the world, including a lot from Eastern Europe, and some from South America. From talking with him, it sounds like no one was being forced into it. He had no incentive to do so. He wanted to be sure they were all of legal working age and had their paperwork, as he wans't going to risk getting his business shut down by one girl. He had little incentive to "traffic" them.
