Have you considered the ethics of contributing to an industry that promotes human trafficking? You make the profession look good to your johns. But that hurts other girls. |
Have you considered the ethics of buying products made by slaves in China, Bangladesh, Vietnam, etc? Almost all of us contribute to ugliness. |
And if that strategy worked for men, then prostitution wouldn't exist. |
|
Years ago, I worked for a USAID contractor that worked in HIV/AIDS research and programming. We did a fair amount of published research on sex workers in South Africa. Without fail, every one of them went into the trade voluntarily. These women surveyed the options available to them without special skills, education, capital and undue exhaustion and concluded, quite reasonably, that being a prostitute for $100/day is a much better deal than stitching shoes or cleaning houses for $15/day. Not a single instance of coercion to be found.
I'm sure some women are trafficked into the trade. What you are discounting is that a big chunk, very big chunk of women who sell sex are doing it for the same reason you are a lawyer or a doctor - that's the best and the most profitable they can do with the assets they have. The only difference is that you have education, work ethics and long-term vision, and they don't. They aren't forced into it. They just aren't particularly motivated to do actual work for money, because fucking is easier and brings in more cash. It's not a good long-term strategy but not everyone looks long-term. |
| How is this political? |
Really? If its so easy for you to get laid and have women all over your dick, why just not give out a fake number then? Or block them? Problem solved. |
x2 |
Ah, the lie of the happy prostitute. Yes, every prostitute is just like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Or at least most of them. They do it because they love men, not because they have a drug habit, or need to support children, or are trying to scramble out of property, or have an abusive pimp. Yes. You are so right. Which is why they will so happily fuck you when you dont pay them. Men who delude themselves into thinking this is okay truly disgust me. |

Matriarchal societies are best for everyone. When men have power and are put in charge of money, they tend to spend it on themselves for things like alcohol, drugs, gambling and prostitutes. Women tend to reinvest in the family which benefits society as a whole.
Just watched Katie Couric as she moderates a panel at the World Economic Forum in Davos. The discussion, "Ending Poverty through Parity," focuses on how to invest in women and girls around the world. http://news.yahoo.com/video/world-economic-forum-2015-katie-230000556.html |
Serious question. If matriarchal societies are best, then why aren't most societies matriarchal? Shouldn't there be an evolutionary / survival of the fittest angle here that fits? |
Oh gosh, more bullshit evolutionary theory. please. Also, things are different now. Obviously, men generally fare better in hand to hand combat. But we have seen a rapid change in gender roles since warfare technology became more advanced. Now, with most work becoming digital and not labor based, I think we will see a complete reversal of the gender power balance. Women are now being rated as smarter than men, they graduate college in much higher percentages, and the wage gap is predicted to be reversed soon. SOURCE While matriarchy is already a reality in some societies, I think before long it will be the norm for the west. |
Yes. Very true. If you have not read this article yet: http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2015/01/the-secret-to-smart-groups-isnt-smart-people/384625/ Please do. It is heartening. Also this awesome article on matriarchy: http://jezebel.com/here-is-what-its-like-when-women-have-slightly-more-pow-1638239831 I will definitely watch the Yahoo video. Exciting changes are happening.

so because you think it, it must be, got it. And look, I made my point by not insulting you. |
Did you even read the article? let me guess- no. Because you dont want to read any facts that would contradict the narrative youve constructed in your head. Pathetic. |
settle down, sally. you've made a lot of assumptions based on nothing. sounds like a winning formula to me. |
