It's obvious that you feel personally threatened by what I have shared, though I gave no personal details whatsoever.
I am merely stating what I have personally experienced as fact. All men of all religions violate the laws of their religions and they do it all the time. Yes, my experience includes Saudi men . They are no different. They are all men, period. The point is there is no such thing as a lock solid religious action. It is human beings after all who invented religion, and when it suits them , so called devout or not, they set aside. Men are imperfect and any religious following made up of men will be imperfect and fail to meet its ideal, not just rarely, but most of the time. |
I got no idea why you feel I'd be threatened by what you shared. What do I care? The world is full of Arabs, do as many as you like. My husband have cousins here. They enjoy the local talent with abandon. They aren't devout. In fact, what you say and what I say is in no way in contradiction, and I don't know why you keep picking at it. Again: devout Muslims do not have girlfriends. If they do, they aren't devout. I don't question that men you slept with put their religion aside to have a piece. All I am saying is that it makes them not devout. |
No. Tamerlan owned a Mercedes as well. |

Tsarnaev, who was killed early Friday in a shootout with cops, once claimed he didn’t have any American friends and didn’t understand people in his adopted country.
But John Allan, who owns a gym where Tsarnaev used to train, told The Boston Globe that he was once introduced to an American whom Tsarnaev called his best friend. PHOTOS: RELIEF AFTER MANHUNT FOR BOSTON MARATHON BOMBER DZOKHAR TSARNAEV ENDS That person — 25-year-old Brendan Mess — was found murdered in his Waltham, Mass., apartment in September 2011 with two other men. They were each stabbed to death in the neck with either a knife or ice pick, and a neighbor at the time described how their bodies were covered in marijuana. Yes, clearly you resent and are threatened by my point: that no man is always devout when religion stands in the way of their more base motivations , but rather than debate that point you : Suggest that I am "the local talent" in other words a prostitute for the simple fact that I pointed out that plenty of muslims who pray five times a day, who fast, who go to mecca, who give zikat, will also have sex outside of marriage and , given a choice between no sex , and doing something against their religious teachings, will choose to make an exception for themselves. Not once, not twice, but again and again and again, NOT BECAUSE said woman is " the local talent" , but because, well, they are men and they really , really , really would like to have sex now, please. No religion can take that out of them, because all religion is, is an aspiration of an ideal. No religion has a premium on morality, and your suggestion that somehow, while thsoe Shia may make things oh so convenient and easy for themselves, the Sunni belief is "pure" and that there is somewhere a religion for the "pure and devout" is indicative of intolerance, and kinda sickening. That's the kind of talk that really turns off Americans. Like President Obama says, "its not a competition". In America its considered offensive to say that one religion is "more devout" than another. Its rude. It offends. It should. Men are just men, and if they set whatever religious beliefs they have aside either to beg a woman to have sex with them, or to plant bombs that kill 8 year old children, its not because they belong to a "less devout faith" , but because in the case of killing, they have a lot of hate and rage inside of them, and they gave into it, because they are human, and sometimes that is pretty ugly. |

b. Truly devout Muslims do not have girlfriends. Note - not Muslims who feel the need to rationalize it in their minds - but Muslims who understand the rules of their religion and live by them. If Muslims have girlfriends, they aren't devout. That is all.
And I'm married to a Saudi, so you don't need to explain the minutia of Muslim law and behavior to me. What's that sound of wood cracking ? The word hypocrisy was coined for a reason and not with sinners in mind. |

Yes, the sheer devout nature of Saudi society does stagger the mind:
As of January 2013, the majority of foreign workers held on death row in Saudi Arabia come from Indonesia.[22] These conditions have sparked condemnation both inside and outside of Saudi Arabia. In 2002, Grand Mufti Abdul-Azeez ibn Abdullaah Aal ash-Shaikh argued that Islam required employers to honour their contracts and not intimidate, blackmail, or threaten their workers.[11] Several executions have sparked international outcries. In June 2011 Ruyati binti Satubi, an Indonesian maid, was beheaded for killing her employer's wife, reportedly after years of abuse.[23][24] A video of the execution, posted online, drew extensive criticism.[25] In September 2011, a Sudanese migrant worker was beheaded for "sorcery",[26] an execution which Amnesty International condemned as "appalling".[27] In January 2013 a Sri Lankan maid named Rizana Nafeek was beheaded after she was convicted of murdering a child under her care, an occurrence which she attributed to the infant choking. The execution drew international condemnation of the government's practises,[22] and led Sri Lanka to recall its ambassador.[28] These are not isolated cases. According to figures by Amnesty International, in 2010 at least 27 migrant workers were executed and, as of January 2013, more than 45 foreign maids were on death row awaiting execution.[29] [edit] 'Employers may accuse domestic workers, especially those from Indonesia, of witchcraft. Victims of rape and sexual assault are at risk of being accused of adultery and fornication.' Human rights group say 69 people were executed in Saudi Arabia last year and 79 the year before, including five women, one of whom was beheaded for witchcraft and sorcery. MISTREATMENT OF MAIDS Saudi Arabia is notorious for its treatment of domestic staff, the majority of who migrate from poverty-stricken countries. Commentators have remarked that Saudis treat staff as if they were part of the furniture - with stories of beatings, rape and imprisonment all too common. In 2010, shocking photographs emerged of maid Sumiati Binti Salan Mustapa, 23, who suffered severe injuries from being stabbed, burned and beaten. Her employer was sentenced to just three years in jail but was later acquitted altogether, in a case that outraged human rights groups. Speaking at the time, Wahyu Susilo of the Indonesian advocacy group, Migrant Care, said: 'Again and again we hear about slavery-like conditions, torture, sexual abuse and even death. 'But our government has chosen to ignore it. Why? Because migrant workers generate £4.7billion in foreign exchange every Amnesty International Saudi Arabia researcher Dina el-Mamoun said there is growing alarm at the number of migrant workers being sentenced to death, with more than 120 foriegn nationals known to be on death row. She said migrant workers in Saudi Arabia are at great risk if they end up in the criminal justice system and added countries should be advising their residents of the 'very real and deadly' risks. Ms Mamoun said: 'In many cases they're subjected to whole trials where they can't understand the proceedings, which are conducted solely in Arabic, and without translation. They are often not given access to consular assistance.' Death row prisoner Tuti Tursilawati binti Warjuki, 27, from Indonesia, faces execution for murdering her employer in 2010 when he allegedly attempted to rape her. Her supporters say she was abused by the man since arriving in the country a year earlier and was denied legal representation for the first two months of her trial. For all of you who laughed at my "brain damaged by boxing" theory:
http://www.boston.com/sports/marathon/2013/04/20/researchers-urge-special-brain-autopsy-bombing-suspect/UoZExTff0K4olSTyIV5WGL/story.html Researchers urge brain autopsy of bombing suspect Two pioneering researchers of brain disease among athletes in violent sports recommended Saturday that investigators conduct special autopsy tests on amateur boxer Tamerlan Tsarnaev to determine whether the Boston Marathon bombing suspect could have been affected by boxing-related brain damage. |

I would like to put this in perspective. This criticism is not much different from the kinds of things I hear in this forum and Off Topic about Catholics who hold liberal beliefs. I find the comments obnoxious but not exactly indicative of evil intent. |
There is going to be a lot of spin to try and turn this away from what it really is. The more his background is dug into, the more it points toward his motive being Jihad, acting as a radical. We are not laughing at your boxing theory; we are laughing at the lengths in which some will go to avoid the facts. This type of bend-over-backwards liberalism is going to be the ultimate downfall of this country. We MUST be willing to see things for what they are, when those occasions arise, to survive. |
Hmmm... if you aren't laughing at the boxing theory then it really does need to be evaluated. On a number of occasions a person in the US has committed a politically motivated crime, and the answer back has been uniformly that the person is mentally unstable. Anders Brevik is schizophrenic, the Holocaust Museum shooter is crazy, the Gifford shooter is crazy, the soldier who shot the Navy Seal has PTSD. So in fact it may well be that a person with brain damage ends up on a paranoid path that causes them to gravitate toward ideologies of hate. Personally, I do not believe the theory. But the parallel is there and it can't hurt to check it out. |
| Sorry I shouldn't have listed Brevik because I said US. But I think he is an example of how crazy people adopt hate ideologies. |

The Wall Street Journal cited a Swiss expert on Chechen terrorism who observed:
There is a significant distinction between Chechens who back Chechen resistance to Russian rule and the much smaller group who have embraced global jihadi ideology. “In these cases, the Chechen background is maybe a part of what leads them to do what they do,” said Lorenzo Vidino, an expert on Chechen militants at the Center for Security Studies in Zurich.” A purely nationalist Chechen would have little reason to put a bomb at the Boston Marathon.” Tamerlane on his last trip to Chechnya in January 2012 came back sporting a beard, perhaps signifying his conversion into Muslim fundamentalism. A YouTube page in his name had links to Islamic websites and videos from a radical Australian Muslim preacher, body builder and former boxer, Sheik Feiz Mohammad. An International Business Times report on Mohammad’s influence on Tamerlan noted: Feiz Mohammad, the radical preacher cited by dead Boston Marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, is a former boxer who blames women for being raped and called for prominent Dutch politician [Geert Wilders] to be beheaded. [. . .] He has been investigated by Australian police for inciting violence and terrorism, and was even captured on a British TV documentary encouraging children to become martyrs for Islam six years ago. Feiz has been described by some as Australia’s most dangerous sheikh, because of the number of connections he holds to known terrorists. Although it is not known whether the hardline sheikh has any direct links to Al-Qaeda, he has regularly broadcast sermons from the group’s spiritual leader, the late Anwar al-Awlaki, on his website. According to the Wall Street Journal, “a profile on the Russian social-networking site Vkontakte that appears to belong to Dzhokhar Tsarnaev includes a propaganda clip rallying jihadists to go to Syria to fight alongside rebels there, citing sayings from the Prophet Muhammad.” The parents’ comments inferred that their sons were victims of a CIA plot.. The mother Zubeitda was cited in a CNN report saying “that she thought 9-11 was purposefully created by the American government to make America hate Muslims.” Zubeitda was arrested on a charge of shoplifting and malicious defacement at a suburban Natick, Massachusetts Lord & Taylors store in 2009. |
I don't think its Jeff's 'liberalism that is at the heart of his defense that Tsarnaev's are ANYTHING BUT radicalized youth, I think its his persoanl attachments , and his penchant for actively "moderating" this forum , shall we say. I am a democrat, and I think the borhers were motivated by their own rage and self hatred at being impotent and ineffectual in their own lives coupled with coming form a family that seems to have a LONG history of dupicitous behavior, re-settlement, trauma, and lack of abilty to "attach" in a constructive way to any society or country in which they have lived. Likely in Boston or in Dagestand the elder brother met up with individuals who made him feel he belonged, gave his life purpose and chanelled his self-loathing outward at " Kaffirs" , which is far more comfortable, than channeling it inward and being depressed. Enraged young men + surging testosterone can have a deadly outcome if one is not well socialized, and these two seem to have had several knocks along the way in terms of positive socialization, their acceptabnce by Americans aside. |
