When will Fairfax County residents learn that Descano is bad news?

Fairfax has actually experienced a drop in violent crime in recent years and has consistently ranked as the safest (or one of the safest) jurisdictions of its size in the US. I'm having trouble believing this is a legitimate investigation...sounds like a witch hunt.

Two things can be true. You can have a drop in violent crime and you can have a prosecutor who makes terrible decisions.

It is also possible that violent crime is not being charged and prosecuted. That makes stats look better.

Remember, we are only seeing the most extreme cases in the news. How many are unreported?

There have already been reports that charges are dropped or reduced for some of the suspects because witnesses didn't want to testify. None of this means anything. All the details are so high level. This isn't a good-faith investigation.

As a separate but related matter, ICE can call up and find out when people are getting released. They aren't barred from any jails in Fairfax County. This isn't an insurmountable problem. If they have to wait a few hours on release day, so be it.

1. ICE has to be told the person is in custody and being released..
2. The sheriff has said she will release anyone to ICE who has a "judicial warrant." That requires time and red tape that should not be necessary. If an undocumented alien has committed a crime, they should be turned over. Period.

The names of people in custody are a matter of public record. If Fairfax doesn't want to proactively cooperate, ICE can reach out get the info on their own. Fairfax isn't going to lie to them, they just aren't offering detention space past the release date. This is just a pi**ing contest and it's getting old.

I'm sad that you believe that.

Crime is not being reported. Cases aren't being prosecuted.

You know where you don't need a judicial warrant? In the parking lot of the jail or courthouse. Mere steps from the facility.

Question: Why do Democrats want to keep criminals in the country if they are eligible to be deported?

There's an argument to be made for separating public safety and federal immigration enforcement. Sure, some people on the left are just lenient, just like some people on the right are aggressive. But the fact remains ICE can come get any of these people outside the facilities in they do some legwork. Come on now, Dean Cain didn't sign up to escort people from the dreary corners of the jailhouse. These people like playing cowboy.

Yes. But the Dems throw fits and interfere with ICE when they do it outside of the jails.

Yes, because this is an emotional issue for a lot of people. And people think different things. Welcome to life. Who cares if some protesters are in the parking lot?

Are you thinking of a particular jailhouse parking lot protest? The only protesters I have seen actually interfering are for the raids on apartment buildings. I don't think people are too concerned about a violent criminal getting picked up. But share what incident you are thinking of.

See Jason Miyares testimony yesterday. The Sheriff and Descano are playing bullsh%$ games with the warrant nonsense and they know it. Descano and Kincaid need to resign.
