I've never understood that a Democrat in South Carolina--that votes Red in the General Election-gets to choose the Dem nominee for President--and in the 2020 election-also got to choose VP.

VPs have little responsibility until the POTUS is dies or becomes incapacitated. Harris did nothing "poorly". Everything that went wrong from January 2021 through January 2025 including the 2024 election disaster was 100% the fault of Joe Biden. Biden ended his VPs career just as Trump ended Pence and Vance's careers.

This. Trump cheated in 2016 and it worked. He cheated in 2020 but it wasn’t enough. So in 2024, he overplayed his hand and “won” every swing state. Which should be a major red flag to anyone who has half a brain cell.

Trump literally cannot do anything at all without cheating and breaking rules, so why would this be any different? It’s not idiotic. Its strategy. Republicans only have to appeal to a narrow group of people who have a lot in common (but mostly race). The democrats have a bigger tent and more of every kind of diversity in their party. They have to appeal to a wide variety of people with different cultures and races.
