Kamala Harris - new post

Not sure who you're talking about peacocking but anyone with at least half a brain knew there was very little chance of a Dem victory in the 2024 election the day Biden announced he was running for a second term. Many of us actually knew the Dems were doomed in 2024 the day Biden was nominated in 2020 because it was obvious any Dem nominee would win the general election in 2020 and Biden was a boob of a politician destined to fail the party by 2024. Biden was still obviously a better choice than Trump but so would have been Cosby and Epstein so that isn't saying much.

Because of her association with Biden. Not because of "her".

I thought they just disliked Biden for his dementia? Now it is his policies that are unpopular?

People had different reasons for not liking Biden. At the end of the day, he was a poor communicator with poor leadership skills which led to his historically low approval ratings. His unpopularity and untimely exit from the 2024 race gave any Dem nominee zero chance of winning. Harris did well in the no-win situation Biden placed her in.

Just think of the landslide victory of epic proportions the GOP could have had if they had been smart enough to get rid of Trump by 2024 so they could nominate a normal/decent candidate like they used to. Now those idiots are stuck with Trump dragging them down until January 2029.

At least then, he will have reduced the illegal population by millions, instead of increasing it, as would have happened under Nikki Haley, albeit not as much as Harris.
Maybe DeSantis would have been good.

Whatever. People will vote for the candidate they feel is best. Most of us don't vote based on the color of someone's skin.

Oh I think you do…

Obama was the most popular and successful two term president in recent history. He’d win in a heart beat if he was running today. Democrats making everything about race to explain why Harris lost are barking up the wrong tree.

Even among Republicans, the last candidate standing in their primary was Nikki Haley - a brown woman.

The candidate matters. And it’s incredibly dumb for Democrats to fixate on racial and gender boxes. The number of voters who would only vote for a white man is vanishingly small. Get a good candidate and 90 percent of Americans wouldn’t give a damn about their race or gender.

This is all Democrats obsess over. We see it in thread after thread here on DCUM - "who should run in 2028?" And then post after post about what combination of race and gender would make a winning team. Absolutely idiotic.

It’s not idiotic. Its strategy. Republicans only have to appeal to a narrow group of people who have a lot in common (but mostly race). The democrats have a bigger tent and more of every kind of diversity in their party. They have to appeal to a wide variety of people with different cultures and races.

What appeals to the normal masses of people are candidates with presidential leadership skills. Only idiots put race or gender above presidential talent. You may be an idiot but most Dems aren't.

Trump is a racist. Trump is a misogynist. Trump is a rapist. Trump is a pedophile.

All I can say is I read she was not black. That she put out. And—I’ll say that. And then I read that she was black. And that’s ok. Either one was ok with me. That’s up to her. That’s up to her.” [Debate at 1:25:11-1:25:20]

I have been the best president for black people since Abraham Lincoln.”

I’ve known her for a long time, indirectly, not directly very much. She was always of Indian Heritage and she was always promoting her Indian Heritage. I didn’t know she was black until a number of years ago when she turned black. Now she wants to be known as black.

So, I dunno, is she Indian or is she black?”

I respect either one, but she obviously doesn’t because she was Indian all the way until she made a turn, and then she became black person.”

I think someone should look into that.”

"I've got black accountants at Trump Castle and Trump Plaza. Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day."

"I think the guy is lazy. And it's probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is. I believe that."
