1. Biden promised to choose a woman for VP.
2. After that, Clyburn made him promise to choose a Black person.

I've never understood that a Democrat in South Carolina--that votes Red in the General Election-gets to choose the Dem nominee for President--and in the 2020 election-also got to choose VP.  
It makes no sense.

There were not too many good choices there that had name recognition.

VPs have little responsibility until the POTUS is dies or becomes incapacitated. Harris did nothing "poorly". Everything that went wrong from January 2021 through January 2025 including the 2024 election disaster was 100% the fault of Joe Biden. Biden ended his VPs career just as Trump ended Pence and Vance's careers. [/quote]
