DP. At roughly 1/8 of the population that seems fair. They have two now, which is over representing them, but not as badly as say advertising. We need a new Hispanic holiday instead.

I don’t see MLK day as a “Black Holiday” but I guess it depends on your perspective on it.

MLK day is a holiday that celebrates freedom. Freedom of our civil rights and freedom from the oppression of Big Government that picks winners & losers.

But not really. The Emancipation Proclamation only freed slaves in states in rebellion. The news reaching Galveston was about the EP. But the amendment legally freeing ALL slaves was formally ratified at the end of 1865, AFTER June 19, 1865.
