GTFO, no one fetishized abortion. Your hyperbole is disgusting.

+1

The mobile abortion clinic outside of the DNC was a nice touch.

They were there to provide all kinds of medical care, not simply abortions. But I know that does not feed into your fantasy

They were there to provide free medication abortions, vasectomies and emergency contraception. Don't act like they were doing chronic disease management or other care - stop feeding your own fantasy.

Is that not other medical care? Do you not believe in preventing unwanted pregnancies?

+1 sorry, what is wrong with vasectomies? IMO, more men should have them. We'd have less unwanted children, and so less need for abortions.

Catholics don’t kill their unborn babies.

That's right. They kill them after they are born.

What Catholics are killing babies?!

You didn't hear about the Irish nuns who killed hundreds of babies?

I am hardly a MAGA but all this does is cement the US further as a global leader? What are you even talking about?

No. It is largely understood that the US would never produce a pope until it was no longer the top power.

Wrong and wrong.

Look at the field and needs.

He spent 20 years in Peru and that's where he became a bishop (instead of in the US). He then went to the Vatican where he was placed in powerful positions in the Curia.

Read Leo XIII's wikipedia to understand what this guy believes (hint: more helping the poor, less lavishing praise on US CEOs): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pope_Leo_XIII

This guy is a rebuke of MAGA and only an American could do it. It's an interesting moment in time.

Peruvians are white.

Not the ones I know. They're indigenous American.

He's not Peruvian, he's from Chicago and became a naturalized citizen of Peru after working and living there for 2 decades.

He's white.

He's mixed. His parents were both mixed (Haitian and African).

I've seen now that his mother was creole / mixed, but where have you seen any documentation / sources that indicate his father was?

The new Pope is not an agent of the US government. He is Pope in spite of being American, not because of it.

Now someone ask the new Pope his thoughts on transgender ideology and abortion. He likely agrees with Vance on those.

and?

And what? It was a response to PP's statement that the Pope is against this administration's actions. On immigration, yes and probably SNAP and housing assistance changes but this administration and the catholic Church are lockstep on certain things.

the Catholic church is way behind on reproductive rights and women's rights. But it is the Catholic church. They move at a snail's pace in terms of making progress in that regard.

It remains true that this is not a conservative Pope. He has ministered to the poor and stood up for poor migrants as Jesus instructed us all to do.

The Catholic Church will never endorse women's right to abort or birth control (other than that calendar counting). They certainly will never say that God made a mistake and put a girl in a boy's body.

I had the same thought! Good vs evil

Who is the good one? Who is the evil one?

Well, which one is a good Samaritan, helps the poor, comforts the lowly, and welcomes the immigrant? I think you have your answer as to who is good.

Patiently waiting on the reporting on how he handled victims of child rape by priests.

It's already starting to trickle in.

So, to add to the question, does the good one also pay for support of the good deeds, or is someone else doing that or on the hook for it - the American taxpayer...
It's one thing to preach something, but another to actually do it and find the funds to pay for it.
In all honesty, I don't know how much the Catholic Church and the Vatican support financially these programs for the poor/migrants.

JD Vance, for one.

Evangelics circling the drain of relevancy, kicking and screaming the entire way down, down, down.

Pack lightly, warm weather expected!

Lol

JD Vance is a fake catholic. You should listen to him explain why he converted to Catholicism from Protestant Christianity. It’s quite obvious it was because the conservative legal thought leaders are disproportionately catholic. He really just becomes whoever he needs to be in the moment for power.

However, I agree with Vance, I feel it is more Christian to prioritize your family than someone else. If the pope feels it should be the opposite, I disagree with that position.

You need to be excommunicated. No more no more accommodating blasphemers.

Sound like you admit you should not comment on anything regarding the Catholic Church.

After slobbering over Melania all these years they don’t understand how someone can actually speak five languages and not be lying about it.

You want us to provide the numbers of how much good the Catholic Church does in the world? No. You can start by googling Catholic Charities, Catholic Relief Service, USCCB Immigration and Refugee Service to start your own research into the impact the US Catholic Church has on the poor of our country and the world. Of course, it's a tiny window into the good works done by a small corner of the Catholic Church but it will at least help you to sound a bit less ignorant.
