Musk trying to access to US Treasury

I haven't heard them say anything yet. There's a lot happening, but this should be at the top of the radar screen. I feel like we should be in touch with lobbyists for the banks. They can't possibly be okay with this.

OPM sends out mass firing emails without any basis in law and without conformance to existing RIF and other protocols. They then use the Treasury payments system and stop direct deposits.

It’s going to be f#cking chaos. The courts will be swamped with lawsuits.

We are effectively witnessing the absolute neutering of the legislative branch of the government. Laws passed by Congress are now meaningless. It’s pure nihilism.

They’ll also use control of the Treasury to stop federal transfer payments to California and other blue states. They will demand the resignation of Newsom and hold federal funds hostage over it.

You mean we are effectively witnessing the absolute neutering of the executive branch of the government.

Most departments and agencies are in the executive branch.

But they carry out (and are the only ones who carry out) the laws written by and disburse the money appropriated to enact the laws.

Laws written by the legislative branch.

I’m not sure this is the moment for a civil conversation though.

The idea that he could take over our money transfer system within the US Department of Treasury and hold, down to the states, counties and individuals, money transfers and asset transfers is just plain scary.

Criticize Elon on Twitter...get your assets frozen.

It's an unbelievable security catastrophe that even has access to the database let alone the source code.

It says here that Elizabeth Warren is on it. Of course! Said she was on CNN.

Everyone should be in an uproar. He literally has access to every taxpayer’s financial and personal data.

Do you even have a clue what you are talking about?

This is a good letter. Americans need answers to this questions.

Good. More senators should speak out. This is outrageous.

USAID is not as essential to the US interest as continued security and stability of our monetary system and ongoing integrity of congressional authorization of funding. It seems like they may be asleep at the wheel here.

This.
USAID is important, but this is critical. And of course there is the plane crash. No more movement on nominees until this stuff is addressed. It can’t be business as usual.

Secretary Bessent has given Trump's minions access to the Treasury.

He can now stop Social Security, Medicare and veterans benefits.
