Now the banks and brokerage houses legal departments are figuring out their liability to protect their depositors accounts, which may result in wholesale account number changes and other measures that will cost them tens of millions of dollars per institution.

Probably credit card companies as well will need to issue new cards across the board.

Are Musk or any of these DOGE kids on the government payroll? if they aren't, then are they even government employees?

Because if they aren't, then they aren't covered by Qualified Immunity, are they?

Banks, government employees, grant and contract recipients, should band together and sue the living shit out of Musk and the DOGE kids. Sue them for the breaches, defamation, EVERYTHING. I'm thinking something that would even put the Dominion suit to shame. I'm talking ten or eleven figures (or bigger) lawsuit.

I’m not sure what qualified immunity is. But reading this reminded me that it is impermissible to work for the federal government for free. Is that something different? Where is that prohibition?
