Timothee and Kylie

Tim is a very good-looking, talented as well as very successful movie actor.
I think he has a lot of success in front of him as he is still young.

Kylie on the other hand is only pretty because of surgical enhancements.
Before surgery she was average at best.

Plus she has zero talent to boot.
Her Kylie products (cosmetics/skin & babycare, etc.) are solely based on her artificial looks.

Tim should date Jessica Alba.
Jessica is naturally pretty and her brand is better - like đź’Żx better!

Well, she's like 15 years older than him, and looks it. Past child-bearing age. Doesn't seem like you have the level of social intelligence to be coming on here calling people you know nothing about stupid.

This makes me SO sad for you. She doesn't look exotic or cute at all. And she just looks fake and plastic. Her surgeries did NOT enhance her looks. They completely changed them. Please aim higher.

+1. She doesn’t even look like the same person. She will not age well either. She already looks a decade older than she is.

No she doesn't. Not yet anyway.

From the perspective of a previously cute, now 57-year-old woman, I think Kylie looks absolutely adorable. Her kid is so cute and she seems like a loving mom. I have never understood all the hate for the Kardashians. I mean, who have they hurt? They try to do good with all the money they made basically just being famous. And they all seem to work hard, too.

Part of me agrees with what you are saying and part of me feels like they are getting rich selling a very dangerous product. Like the Sackler family — I’m sure they donated some significant amount of their incredible wealth to charity and worked hard, but that didn’t make them good people. The Kardashian family is selling artificial beauty (which is expensive and dangerous) and vapidity to young women. I guess it’s not as dangerous as opioids, but it’s not great.

Ariane Grande has done this on a magnitude far worse than Kylie (I actually don't see this on Kylie at all), but nobody says anything. The poor young woman has the name Kardashian and at that point, automatically becomes a target for something that nobody else is.

They sell artificial beauty, but no one needs to buy it? Do you actually know anyone who has bought a Kylie cosmetic, especially recently?

To answer your question of who they've hurt: they have shilled "tummy tea" or whatever - designed to make you sh*t away your weight. So yes, it's basically a laxative in tea form. They put their sexuality first (except Kendall and Rob) and they are rich. For some reason people look up to rich people, and so now a lot of people put their sexuality first, rather than working on cultivating a good personality. Thus, shallow friendships/relationships. They all have children out of wedlock. Yes, they have good relationships with their baby daddies for the sake of their kids, but they're leading by example that there's no good reason to pick an honorable man. Thus, men feel no compunction to stop themselves from cheating on women they're in relationships with. They encourage rampant consumerism. They buy 2 yr old $2,000 backpacks and things like that. They are examples of poor money management. You may be underestimating how simple most people are, but a lot are. People go into debt buying Kylie lip kids, Skims, Good American, and whatever other stuff they shill.

Comment 2: bold of you to assume that Timothee isn't dumb...

I really don’t understand the people who foam at the mouth over this relationship. Timothee and Kylie give the absolute least. What are people mad about? Two people sitting at a table together?? For real? How empty does the brain need to be to obsess over a relationship this boring?

How about taking some personal responsibility? The Kardashians can’t make anyone buy their shit.

If anything, they’re selling the idea that “beauty” is accessible to all, as long as you have the money and/or develop the skills. Leveling the playing field in many ways.

Maybe this is why so many people find them so threatening?

Kardashians and Grande have both done it, just as they've both used dark tanners and makeup and hairstyles to look black-passing. This has been a big thing in the last 15 or so year as certain ethnicities have become "trendy" and various white celebrities have adopted looks, speech patterns, fashion, even created music and art to mimic those ethnicities. It's all part of a long history of white exploitation of minority culture that includes minstrelsy and Orientalism during the 20th century.

Black culture was more popular in the 2010s so these celebs tried to looks, speak, and act like black people. As K-pop became a major cultural influence, you saw these same celebrities ditching the tanner and bronzer for pale skin and eye makeup that mimics Korean or Japanese eyes. It reminds me of when Gwen Stefani decided she was a harajuku girl.

It's crazy to me that this still goes on and that people don't call it out more when it's happening. It's like people can only see it in retrospect.

OMG -this is crazy especially for a mother. Referring to the procedure as vacuuming makes it sound like she is doing a harmless spring clean of her arms.

Apart from it requiring unnecessary general anesthetic that carry health risk, fat cells provide many important bodily functions.

Fat cells store energy in the form of triglycerides, help to regulate metabolism by producing hormones that influence hunger, insulin sensitivity, and body temperature. They act as an endocrine organ alongside their energy storage function. They release hormones like leptin to signal satiety and regulating and glucose levels in the body. Vitamins A, D, E, and K are stored in fat cells, or fatty tissue, in the body.

Surgeons who perform this procedure for cosmetic reasons are incredibly irresponsible.

Any surgeon performing this on a healthy young woman of normal weight is reprehensible …

Apart from unnecessarily removing fat cells that play important roles in body surgical Liposuction risks include:

Skin and tissue damage

Skin irregularities: Skin may appear bumpy, wavy, or withered

Numbness: Treated areas may feel temporarily or permanently numb

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT): Blood clots can form in the veins, organs, brain, and leg
Fat embolism: Pieces of fat can break away and travel to the brain or lungs

Fluid buildup
Seromas: Temporary pockets of fluid that may need to be drained

Pulmonary edema: Fluid buildup in the lungs
Other risks Lidocaine toxicity, Kidney and heart problems, Thermal burn or heat injury, Poor wound healing, and Rippling or loose skin

A lot of people do not seem to fathom how risky cosmetic surgery actually is.

DP and disagree that they are "leveling the playing field" regarding beauty. The Kardashians have spent millions of dollars to look the way they do. Plastic surgery that they have reversed to follow body trend. Hair extensions, botox, fillers -- temporary treatments that cost thousands annually to maintain. Then layered on top of all of that are the makeup trends that are labor and time intensive and require specialty products -- you can't buy the products you need to create "Kardashian face" for $20 at the drugstore. You're talking hundreds on products for contouring, fake eyelashes, eyebrow treatments, etc. Plus the time it takes to do it. They have professional who come and do their hair and makeup so it's passive for them but the audience they sell to could spend hours to create the same look.

It's not accessible or democratized. Sure, Kylie wants to sell the idea that she is democratizing it by selling a beauty line -- the whole point is to convince consumers that if they buy these products from her, they can look like her. It's always been BS. You can't get Kylie's lips with a lip plumper from her line -- her lips are the result of filler and 3 or 4 different products (most of which are not actually from her line) applied by a professional makeup artist.

I don't find them threatening, I just think they are selling a lie. I do admire their family bonds and some of them are insanely hard working. But Jeff Bezos is hard working too, doesn't mean I think his company is great or that a lot of what he does isn't unethical.

Sounds like Phillip Morris! So I agree people should take some personal responsibility but getting rich off selling a destructive product is still not really something that’s admirable.

This. The PP who thinks they are bad examples for having "baby daddies?" I mean, come on, that's not an argument you can reasonably use to determine people are not good people. And they have every right to sell their beauty products. Why isn't hate for selling beauty products to people directed at all the other hundreds of companies and celebrities? The Kardashian hatred just makes no real sense.
