This makes me SO sad for you. She doesn't look exotic or cute at all. And she just looks fake and plastic. Her surgeries did NOT enhance her looks. They completely changed them. Please aim higher.

+1. She doesn’t even look like the same person. She will not age well either. She already looks a decade older than she is.

No she doesn't. Not yet anyway.

From the perspective of a previously cute, now 57-year-old woman, I think Kylie looks absolutely adorable. Her kid is so cute and she seems like a loving mom. I have never understood all the hate for the Kardashians. I mean, who have they hurt? They try to do good with all the money they made basically just being famous. And they all seem to work hard, too.

Part of me agrees with what you are saying and part of me feels like they are getting rich selling a very dangerous product. Like the Sackler family — I’m sure they donated some significant amount of their incredible wealth to charity and worked hard, but that didn’t make them good people. The Kardashian family is selling artificial beauty (which is expensive and dangerous) and vapidity to young women. I guess it’s not as dangerous as opioids, but it’s not great.

If anything, they’re selling the idea that “beauty” is accessible to all, as long as you have the money and/or develop the skills. Leveling the playing field in many ways.

Maybe this is why so many people find them so threatening?

DP and disagree that they are "leveling the playing field" regarding beauty. The Kardashians have spent millions of dollars to look the way they do. Plastic surgery that they have reversed to follow body trend. Hair extensions, botox, fillers -- temporary treatments that cost thousands annually to maintain. Then layered on top of all of that are the makeup trends that are labor and time intensive and require specialty products -- you can't buy the products you need to create "Kardashian face" for $20 at the drugstore. You're talking hundreds on products for contouring, fake eyelashes, eyebrow treatments, etc. Plus the time it takes to do it. They have professional who come and do their hair and makeup so it's passive for them but the audience they sell to could spend hours to create the same look.

It's not accessible or democratized. Sure, Kylie wants to sell the idea that she is democratizing it by selling a beauty line -- the whole point is to convince consumers that if they buy these products from her, they can look like her. It's always been BS. You can't get Kylie's lips with a lip plumper from her line -- her lips are the result of filler and 3 or 4 different products (most of which are not actually from her line) applied by a professional makeup artist.

I don't find them threatening, I just think they are selling a lie. I do admire their family bonds and some of them are insanely hard working. But Jeff Bezos is hard working too, doesn't mean I think his company is great or that a lot of what he does isn't unethical.

And yet, women don't come on her bashing him at nearly the level they do the Kardashians. It's internal misogyny plain and simple.

To answer your question of who they've hurt: they have shilled "tummy tea" or whatever - designed to make you sh*t away your weight. So yes, it's basically a laxative in tea form. They put their sexuality first (except Kendall and Rob) and they are rich. For some reason people look up to rich people, and so now a lot of people put their sexuality first, rather than working on cultivating a good personality. Thus, shallow friendships/relationships. They all have children out of wedlock. Yes, they have good relationships with their baby daddies for the sake of their kids, but they're leading by example that there's no good reason to pick an honorable man. Thus, men feel no compunction to stop themselves from cheating on women they're in relationships with. They encourage rampant consumerism. They buy 2 yr old $2,000 backpacks and things like that. They are examples of poor money management. You may be underestimating how simple most people are, but a lot are. People go into debt buying Kylie lip kids, Skims, Good American, and whatever other stuff they shill.

How about taking some personal responsibility? The Kardashians can’t make anyone buy their shit.

Of course, I totally agree with you. But other people - not you or me - are simple thinkers.

I don’t know about that. Plenty of people hate Bezos but he has a much lower profile.

They sell artificial beauty, but no one needs to buy it? Do you actually know anyone who has bought a Kylie cosmetic, especially recently?

Her brand is now selling at Ross Dress for Less.

How do you know? Were you shopping there yourself?

Sounds like Phillip Morris! So I agree people should take some personal responsibility but getting rich off selling a destructive product is still not really something that’s admirable.

Are you really trying to say a lip kit is the same as a cigarette?

And yet I bet you have an Amazon subscription, even though his wealth and damage to the environment and society is incomparably huge compared to people like the Kardashians.

She looks like a bratz doll.

Literally nothing about her looks natural.

I believe there is zero point zero chance this is a real relationship. He seems very gay. He doesn’t even know how to act naturally masculine around women and he’s a professional actor.

NP. Not for me. I don’t care one way or another about T.C. but he's an actor whom I’ve watched and enjoyed to some extent. Kylie Jenner, like the rest of her family, does nothing but sell an unrealistic (and honestly dystopian, to my eye) body and beauty standard to young women to make some money. I dislike her and her family because of their vapidity. TC used to seem to have some amount of depth but I question that now, for sure—most likely a Hollywood PR illusion.

If we were talking about Reese Witherspoon dating Tom Sandoval from Vanderpump Rules, I’d certainly bash him harder than her. He sucks and is vapid and creepy in much the same way the Kardashians are. And it would make me rethink how I looked at her.

As a side note I find it infuriating when I hear the idea that anyone disliking the kardashians must do so because of internalized misogyny. That is so backwards and gaslighting-y I want to scream.

I actually feel sorry for her, she has been raised without any kind of formal education. I don't think she and her sister can actually read. They were "home schooled" but in the Los Angeles style, aka they learned nothing whatsoever.

Her mother prioritizes a kind of physical perfection and idealization established by men. Also she requires male approval. This poor girl has been raised by a narcissist and encouraged to have relationships and children FAR TOO YOUNG.

I can see that she's in the media a lot and is nearly a billionaire. I just hope that in 20 yrs we get the true version of her in a tell all book worth reading. She will of course need a ghost writer, because I don't think she can write either, but she can tell her story anyway.

What does “act naturally masculine around women” mean?
