Hey is it good diplomacy to demand the Panama Canal back?

What is the serious issue? Transit fees and ship quotas caused by drought and low water levels?

This isn't some petty bete noire of Trump’s. The Panama Canal is the transport mechanism for huge amounts of American goods, and US companies and consumers stand to gain a lot from evening the playing field. You really haven't provided an answer to any of this beyond "nuh uh" and "your dumb" and lots of cuss words. But these are indeed serious issues that the US has been tracking for quite some time.

The playing field isn't uneven. The U.S. isn't being treated unfairly. Trump may regret that the U.S. turned the canal over to Panama but he has no actual recourse.

So sea level is falling ?

I knew global warming was a hoax.

Don’t you know how the canal works? The Panama Canal uses millions of gallons of freshwater from regional lakes such as Gatún Lake. Their water levels have been decreasing due to drought, which is directly linked to global warming.

The more you think about it, the more genius it is for china to control the canal. Then they can slowly choke the US at will. And if the US economy booms in the meantime with tons of imports then they make sure they get a big cut of it.

It’s sneaky like everything else they do. Like buying up farms in the US and Australia.

We have quite a bit of recourse at this stage. But if we wait, while China gets more entrenched and sets up military bases, we will lose the ability to set the situation back to its prior status. The time to strike is now, while the situation between Panama and China is still nascent and fragile. Not when China has gained strength and Panama has more to lose by backing off of their relationship.

I see we’re already back to the MAGA faithful inventing justifications to make sense of Trumps delusions.

Strike? Panama is a very strong US ally at the moment. It's like a little US down there, complete with American retirees.

Is there any actual evidence that this is occurring?

if this is a serious issue maybe it should be addressed seriously, by the President and his entire cabinet, in the framework of US' broader foreign policy in the region and so on, not with two half-a$$ed middle of the night posts on truth social, just saying

Reread what I wrote. I said if we wait, they will become entrenched and set up military bases.

Yes, there are reports that China has discussed building military bases with various latin american governments.

This article gives a good overview of what I mean by China's attempts to become entrenched: https://www.southcom.mil/MEDIA/NEWS-ARTICLES/Article/3553735/the-expanding-leverage-of-the-peoples-republic-of-china-in-latin-america-implic/

Well, Biden has only met with his cabinet ONE time this year. So safe to say that hasn't happened. Yet, America still needs muscular leadership, which Trump is providing.

And I'll add, over his entire administration, he's only met with his cabinet 9 times. And we have had more than 9 serious issues. So, not everything gets done in a cabinet meeting. And, Trump isn't actually president yet.

It's just another Trump grift.
He's trying not avoid paying taxes he owes.

The man is pure criminal.
