| No to the question asked. The bigger ships can not go through the canal. A new one would have to be built. Last time I was down there (10+years) the Panama government started one and then abandoned it. Too expensive to build a new one is what I was told. |

I know there are a lot of people that either think this is a show of strength on the world stage or who don't care because they think isolationism is a good idea.
But. The first time around Trump could be seen as an anomaly. Now he can't. And countries that were once our strongest allies, who looked to us to set the tone for global action for the last 70 years, think we are a joke. It may never affect some people, or not in ways they will recognize. But we are all about to find out what happens when America is a second tier global player. |
