Hey is it good diplomacy to demand the Panama Canal back?

And that Canada is actually the 51st state like Trump has been saying? Just curious if that is normal stuff and helps with international relations? I know half of America reads at a 5th grade level, but I’d really like those who voted for him to let me know if it’s helpful to talk that way. Thanks!

I looked only because I thought you were serious!

With a brother who thinks tariffs are extra money China pays US for stuff THEY buy I don't see why not (although maybe he had sense enough to realize that what Trump said did NOT make sense).

As usual Trump is playing chess with the swamp and is 400 moves ahead.

No to the question asked. The bigger ships can not go through the canal. A new one would have to be built. Last time I was down there (10+years) the Panama government started one and then abandoned it. Too expensive to build a new one is what I was told.

The only person who really cared about the Panama Canal was Lyndon LaRouche.

Love it!

Oh so, it’s 4d chess when Trump send a bunch of angry messages to random allies? And it helps our position on the world stage? I’m just hoping someone can confirm that. Thanks!

Just curious, because Fox News somehow isn’t running this story. https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/trump-says-he-might-demand-panama-hand-over-canal-2024-12-22/

Can another huge Trump supporter just like me share how happy they are at this incredible statesmanship? It’s like he was anointed by God to be president.

I know there are a lot of people that either think this is a show of strength on the world stage or who don't care because they think isolationism is a good idea.

But.

The first time around Trump could be seen as an anomaly. Now he can't. And countries that were once our strongest allies, who looked to us to set the tone for global action for the last 70 years, think we are a joke. It may never affect some people, or not in ways they will recognize. But we are all about to find out what happens when America is a second tier global player.

And now he tries to get older Fox viewers to buy gold coins in his little commercials. Cool stuff.

Wait. are you saying Trump yelling at Canada about it being an American state, screaming at the BRIC countries not to start a competing currency, and now demanding Panama potentially give back the Panama Canal is not genius level diplomacy?

It's Trump creating a red herring when he can't reduce grocery prices, deport 13 million illegal immigrants then he somehow blames all our problems on Carter ceding the Panama Canal back to Panama!

I think there’s another person who cares about it. And he owns a car company that needs lots of Chinese imports and would benefit mightily if it was easier to get those imports to the east coast.

Let’s take back Manila Bay and the American Concession in Shanghai too!

Trump should force Australia and New Zealand to become a territory of the US.
