Well, Miley didn’t acknowledge Meryl, so… |
I find Taylor's big wide-mouthed "shock" at her wins VERY annoying at this point. She's one of the biggest grammy winners of all time. Act like you've been there.
I do think this album is more deserving of awards than some of her prior albums that have won. Like Lover winning song of the year? Bleh. Red winning both Album of the Year and Country Album of the Year? Come on -- it was not a Country Album. Midnights/Anti Hero are some of her best work so at least I'm not annoyed that she's winning. But I do wish she'd stop with the "Who? Me?!?! Oh my gosh, I won?????" act. It is tiiiiiiiiired. |
The ick troll! |
And it makes her seem chaotic and unthoughtful of her surroundings, she was practically jumping around on stage as if at a party with her friends, ignoring the (frail) legend on the stage with her. She could have chosen to start the theatrics when Celine walked off, bit that would take common sense and discernment. |
+1 I thought she was just rude. She saw Celine, ignored her while she was trying to hand over the trophy and rushed to the other woman from her team. okkk, I thought she would acknowledge her at least during or after the speech, but nope. And how tacky - announcing your next album instead of giving a thank you speech. She is an opportunist and business/money minded woman all the damn time. What do little kids see in her? |
I know! Didn’t acknowledge her at all. |
Celine has stiff person syndrome or something. She is in her senses and was waiting to be acknowledged and Taylor does not respect a woman who has been in the music industry for ages. Her time will come too when the younger ones diss her. Karma is a b**** |
I think it reflects her very strong investment in winning the award, for which I am mildly embarrassed for her. She already has a lot of Grammy's. There were other great albums nominated (I loved boygenius's The Record and Lana's album had one of my favorite songs in recent memory on it, Let the Light In with Father John Misty). But you could tell she was very determined to win because it sets a record and I think she's extremely conscious of wanting to be "the best" and beat others. She's like the Tom Brady of pop music. Like... I respect the talent and the work ethic but it does not stop me from rolling my eyes at the hyper competitiveness that veers in narcissism with alarming frequency. |
She totally took the Grammy and bounced from Celine. She also dragged Lana Del Ray up there who was also up for Album of the year against her. Not really thoughtful of others in the moment. I think we all watched Taylor’s Ego show up in that moment. |
Look, Taylor is a pop music genius. One of the best in history. There are a lot of haters out there and what are they going to do? Hate.
Also, boo hoo Jay-Z, maybe Beyonce should create an album that the mass market actually likes if she wants album of the year so bad. So far, she hasn't. Not even close. |
This is what annoyed me as well. Celine has some disease, is frail and this one runs around on stage instead of first going to Celine, collecting the award and then doing her theatrics. |
I mean, actual little kids see themselves -- small children are quite self involved and self important. I'm more confused as to how this stuff is tolerated, and even celebrated, by her peers. |
Being a billionaire breaks your brain. And she's a billionaire now. I think we should all prepare for her to act increasingly deranged moving forward. It's like Main Character Syndrome without a cure. |
She is a narcissist. Ignoring a legend who has some medical condition and who is waiting with the award on stage while she is doing her theatrics = not cool. |
+1. She is very chaotic at times… Awkward when not rehearsed. |
